In 1931 Trans Canadian Air Mail went through Detroit as shown on this cover. Safe air mail routes were not yet available north of Lake Superior. Note the Detroit Air Mail Field cancel.

Some Stamp Collectors get over enthusiastic with the number of stamps that they put on a cover. Also some Postal Clerks like to make sure all the stamps are canceled. The Graf Zeppelin “First Flight Airmail” purple cachet is barely visible. Somehow the cover did reach its destination as shown by the back stamps.

Look closely. Do you think this cover is real or altered? Tis’ a puzzlement! Cancels look good but was a stamp removed? I leave you with food for thought.
