The value of these activities come alive through the work of the volunteers, the workers and the councils dedicated to making their communities vibrant. 2019-2020 was a good year for the Parkland Valley Sport, Culture and Recreation District lead by the support we get from our communities and organizations. We continue to have strong uptake on our programs and services allowing the organization to achieve the strategic outcomes. As you will read in this report, we have great participation from communities, organizations and people. As an organization we will continue to strive to meet the needs of those we serve. The Board of Directors and staff thank all those that work to keep sport, culture and recreation valued in community. Finally, we recognize our funder, Saskatchewan Lotteries, for supporting the advancement of sport, culture and recreation in community. Targets groups have an awareness of SCR opportunities available. 86.5% indicated Target groups understand the benefits of SCR in communities. outcomes Stakeholders value working with the District to achieve shared outcomes. acheived The District Network focused on capacity building understanding of how the provincial sport, culture and recreation system operates; connecting with other sectors to enhance programs and services where it fits; sharing of information to increase access to opportunities; and sharing why sport, culture and recreation are important to a connected Recreation Director Meeting community and individual well-being. October 2019 Global Partners The three Globals provide quality leadership and support towards achieving the shared outcomes of the advancement of sport, culture and recreation in our District. The District participates as an active member in all three organizations. Global Initiatives supported in the District: Aboriginal Community Sport Development Program SPRA Member Initiative Support SPRA Recreation Board Development SaskCulture Animateur and Culture Days District Dream Broker Global/District Annual Gathering PVSCRD Annual Report 05 Provincial Networks The sport, culture and recreation system is a large network of non-profits with mandates to advance a specific area of sport, culture and recreation. These are valuable organizations that support and contribute to the District achieving established outcomes. In this past year, Parkland Valley worked cooperatively to provide additional opportunities for communities and organizations with these organizations. Saskatchewan Games Council - The District participates as Team Parkland Valley Mission Staff taking care of team management and logistics prior and during the Sask Games week. The success of these Games is based on several provincial, regional and local partners each with a role making this multi-sport event happen every two years. Multicultural Council of Saskatchewan - The District collaborated this past year to host multi- cultural programming including INVOLVE, BRIDGES, and Strategic Initiative Support. These programs ultimately brought together people including Newcomers and Indigenous people around cultural understanding, youth anti-racism leadership and volunteer development. Sport, Culture and Recreation Districts - This network shares ideas, discusses challenges and supports each other in advancing sport, culture and recreation for communities in our respective areas. Saskatchewan Arts Board - The District cooperated to host sessions to raise awareness and share information on funding programs and explanation of the application process for artists. Saskatchewan Sport Medicine & Science - In partnership, the District hosted training & informational sessions using free instruction hours by Sport Medicine & Science. District Networks The collaborative support between organizations and people help provide quality opportunities for residents within our District boundaries. Recreation Directors - Our connection with recreation directors from communities and First Nation create a support network to connect, share information and discuss challenges affecting sport, culture and recreation in community. Truth and Reconciliation - The District currently participates in Reconciliation Yorkton. Participating in this group helps understanding the inequities and develop relationships with people and organizations moving towards a positive future. Yorkton and File Hills Qu'Appelle Tribal Councils - The District communicates regularly with the Sport Coordinators within the two Tribal Councils in our area. Girls in Sport, November 2019 We cooperate in communicating programs and services that are available to community throughout the District. Museum Networks - Participating in the museum networks helps create connections, information sharing and celebrating the cultural history of our area. Community Sport Organizations - A targeted effort was made this year to reach sport organizations
