It will be on view March 17 through May 14 at 920 S. Commerce Street, Las Vegas. Reno, Nev. – The Art Museum at Symphony Park (AMSP), the group advancing a future art museum in Las Vegas, and Reno-based Nevada Museum of Art, the state’s only accredited art museum, have partnered to present an exhibition showcasing the most significant contemporary artists living and working across Nevada today. Tilting the Basin: Contemporary Art of Nevada bridges the divide between Northern and Southern Nevada communities, providing a broad overview and deep understanding of the most accomplished work being created by more than thirty artists living and working in the Silver State. The exhibition is co-curated by Nevada Museum of Art Curatorial Director and Curator of Contemporary Art JoAnne Northrup; and Las Vegas-based art advisor Michele C. Quinn, owner of MCQ Fine Art, LLC. Tilting the Basin: Contemporary Art of Nevada debuted in Reno August 5 through October 23, 2016, at the Nevada Museum of Art, Donald W. Reynolds Center for the Visual Arts, E. L. Wiegand Gallery. As there are fees associated with filming on the Fremont Street Experience, please be prepared to discuss your payment prior to filming. Filming is not permitted during a Special Event, unless a shoot is related to the event or if the FSE Film Coordinator deems it a non- issue after review your application. Downtown Project was founded in January 2012 with the idea that if you accelerate co-learning, collisions, and connectedness in the city’s urban core, productivity, innovation, growth, and happiness will fall into place. Zappos.com CEO Tony Hsieh made a personal investment of $350 million toward helping with the revitalization of part of downtown Las Vegas. His investment became Downtown Project, which has allocated roughly $200 million in real estate and development, $50 million in small businesses, $50 million in technology and startups through VTF Capital, and $50 million in arts and culture, education, and healthcare. A large portion of our investment was allocated toward real estate and development in the Fremont East/East Village districts of downtown Las Vegas. We own approximately 45 acres, and we’re activating our holdings in an organic way, rather than through a top-down master plan. We’ve purposely activated buildings that are not directly next to one another in order to encourage people to walk a little farther into the neighborhood, which increases opportunities for collisions. The roughly $200 million to real estate and development includes approximately 45 acres of land in and around the Fremont East and East Village districts, and approximately 11 businesses that we wholly own and operate. So far we’ve invested in approximately 50 small businesses ranging from restaurants, bars, and a microbrewery to retail, including a bookstore, a record store/recording studio, and a toy store. Downtown Project has also invested in services, from a membership-based dog park and doggie day care to an app-based laundry and dry cleaning business. -

City of Las Vegas Symphony Park Garages NVUCA-19427 Project Information The project consists of multi-level municipal parking garages of approximately 500 parking spaces each, grade level retail shell space within each garage, and off-site and utility improvements, at Symphony Park Parcels B and L. Symphony Park Parcels B and L are located in the area generally bounded by Symphony Park Avenue to the North, Union Pacific Railroad right of way to the East, West Clark Ave- nue to the South, and South Grand Central Parkway to the West. The estimated cost to design and construction of the Project is estimated to be $31,000,000. Symphony Park is the first major open space within downtown Las Vegas and is quickly becoming Las Vegas’ urban central park, a beautifully landscaped area that encourages outdoor social interaction. Symphony Park is home to The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, DISCOVERY Children’s Museum and Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health. The proposed parking garages, are planned to support the existing uses on the park, and to support the rapid growth and development of this area. Contextualism became critical. The new structures needed to fit within the existing built language. But what was the right approach giv- en the various styles that exist amongst the park’s built realm? The response is the celebration of both garages as art, informed by the iconic Dream Sculpture along a reflective galvanized steel composition. Both garages are planned with a very similar language and aesthetics, becoming recognizable elements with distinct colors on each that serve as wayfinding. -
