I hope you have all had a happy holiday and are now ready to get down to the serious part of life - chasing your family tree. I wish you all good luck and I hope that we are all able to help one another with our own personal knowledge. I am sure that the group will continue to go from strength to strength in 1994 if we all work together. Regards to all Marie Boyce Area Administrator *************************************** EDITORIAL Well here we are entering our fifth year of publication of the 'South West Genealogist', it doesn't seem like four and a bit years ago that I suggested we produce a newsletter but here I am producing number 41. The task of putting together these newsletters is a lot easier than it was 40 issues ago when I was writing all of the articles, columns etc. most have had a good rest as Marie and Betty between them have been producing a large proportion of the material now being published for which I am most grateful. Since we last met Marie has had an operation to correct her broken shoulder and is recovering very well with strength returning daily. Elections for Officebearers are due at the annual general meeting on March 10th, if you would like to take on a position please have a chat to Marie who has nomination forms for all the positions shown on the front page of this newsletter. If possible we would like to break up some of the multiple duties into single duties if someone is prepared to take on these jobs. NOTE Only A.I.G.S. members can hold the positions of Area Administrator, Secretary and Treasurer on the Management Committee. A.I.G.S. President Faye Guthrie will be the guest speaker at this years AGM. Well I hope you enjoy this issue of the 'South West Genealogist' and good luck with your researching in 1994. *************************************** MEMBERSHIP FEES ARE NOW DUE A.I.G.S. and Warrnambool membership fees are now due and should be paid to the Treasurer as soon as possible. Reference to the renewal form in the December issue of the 'Genealogist, will indicate the fee payable for A.I.G.S. membership whilst the Warrnambool fee remains at $10.00 for 1994.
