YEAR IN REVIEW • Last season, Vermont celebrated its 50th anniversary of men’s hockey and the 50th anniversary of Gutterson Fieldhouse. • UVM won 20 games for the first time since 2009, made the Hockey East play - offs for the eighth time in the last nine seasons, and secured its sixth NCAA Tournament berth in school history. • The Catamounts fell to eventual national champion Union in the NCAA East Regional at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Conn. • The team collected two Hockey East All-Star honors and had a player (Mario Puskarich) win the Rookie of the Year Award for the first time.

HOCKEY EAST PRESEASON POLL • Vermont was picked to finish eighth in PRESEASON POLL (1st place) the 2014-15 Hockey East Preseason 1. Providence (7) – 127 Coaches Poll, which was released at the 2. SNEDDON RECORDS DOUBLE MILESTONE • Last season on Nov. 9 at Maine, Kevin Sneddon collected the 150th win of his tenure at Vermont and the 200th of his NCAA head coaching career. • Sneddon, who enters his 12th season at UVM in 2014-15 , is only the fourth head coach in program history and just the third since 1965. • He has led the program to three NCAA Tournaments in the last six seasons, and took UVM to its second-ever NCAA Frozen Four in 2009.

VERMONT PROTECTS THE GUT • Vermont beat ninth-ranked Clarkson and Canisius last year to capture the Sheraton/TD Bank Catamount Cup for the fourth time in the last six seasons. • Vermont has claimed two straight titles and each one has featured an upset win over a top-15 opponent, including No. 12 Union in 2012-13. • UVM is 15-4-1 overall in the Catamount Cup under Kevin Sneddon.

UVM CELEBRATES 50TH ANNIVERSARY • Vermont celebrated its 50th anniversary of men’s hockey Nov. 2 last season. • The Cats have been led by just four head coaches: Bill Ruffer (1963-65), Jim Cross (1965-84), Mike Gilligan (1984-2003), and Kevin Sneddon (2003-present). • UVM has had 21 All-Americans, been to six NCAA Tournaments and two Frozen Fours (1996 and 2009), sent 15 players to the NHL, and had alumni win seven Stanley Cups and 11 major NHL awards (second in NCAA history).
