In this milestone year we are celebrating our belief in children, our commitment to excellence, and our Core Four values: Work Hard, Do Your Best, Never Give Up, and Be Healthy! Since inception, NDI New Mexico has served 75,000 children with programs that engage and inspire them to be their best. For many children, our unique methodology of using the arts to teach life lessons has been a key to unlocking a path to learning and success. This year, NDI New Mexico programs have set the stage for improved health, academic achievement, self-confidence, and quality of life for 7,650 children, 425 teachers, and 68,000 audience members around the state. We wish to recognize all the people who have helped make the past 20 years so special and spectacular. Our public school teachers, principals and administrators have supported our weekly classes. Our instructors and musicians have created joyful classroom experiences and inspiring performances that will serve as memories for a lifetime. Our parents, families, and audience members have attended shows and cheered for the performers’ achievement and excellence. Our public officials have forged strong partnerships to make our programs accessible to our communities. Our donors and volunteers have generously given from their hearts to make it all possible. • We Finally See Rockwell, Williams in FX's First 'Fosse/Verdon' Trailer
We Finally See Rockwell, Williams in FX's First 'Fosse/Verdon' Trailer 02.25.2019 FX's upcoming eight-episode limited series, Fosse/Verdon, unpacks the turbulent five-decade relationship of legendary Hollywood director and choreographer, Bob Fosse (Sam Rockwell), and his wife, muse and star in her own right, Gwen Verdon (Michelle Williams). Their relationship starts as a director-star cliche and then evolves into something much more complicated as Fosse fuels his manic creativity with drugs, alcohol and sex. Verdon, meanwhile, reaches the height of her career as a Broadway triple threat and multiple Tony winner but watches Fosse stay in the spotlight as she fades into age and obscurity. Still, she remains his unrecognized collaborator even as their marriage unravels. Eventually, Fosse forges a connection with Ann Reinking (Margaret Qualley), an up-and-coming Broadway dancer who has all the talent and tenacity of a young Verdon. She hopes to follow in Verdon's footsteps, but may not have the stomach to put up with everything Fosse demands. Surrounding the couple are a coterie of fellow artists, friends, collaborators, and rivals: playwright and screenwriter Paddy Chayefsky (Norbert Leo Butz); former modern dancer- turned-homemaker Joan Simon (Aya Cash); Joan's husband, playwright Neil Simon (Nate Corddry); and theater producer and director Hal Prince (Evan Handler). The series is executive produced by Rockwell, Williams, Thomas Kail, Steven Levenson, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Joel Fields and George Stelzner. Levenson wrote the premiere episode, which is directed by Kail. Nicole Fosse, daughter of the couple, serves as key creative consultant, co-executive producer and keeper of the Verdon Fosse legacy.

  • HERRMANN MUSIC in HAVE GUN WILL TRAVEL and OTHER CLASSIC CBS TELEVISION SERIES by Bill Wrobel
HERRMANN MUSIC IN HAVE GUN WILL TRAVEL AND OTHER CLASSIC CBS TELEVISION SERIES By Bill Wrobel [April 2006 1st draft but some material added June 13, 2007 for Rawhide & Perry Mason] Have you ever watched the old classic CBS series such as Have Gun Will Travel, Gunsmoke, Rawhide, Perry Mason, and Twilight Zone and ever wondered how much of Bernard Herrmann’s music you heard in various episodes? I remember when I was seven years old and watched Paladin on Saturday nights for its first season run. While I was still not cognizant at the time of whom Bernard Herrmann was by name, I recall the excitement I felt watching the show (westerns were big, so to speak, or very popular at that general period on American television). I particularly liked Paladin, and then Matt Dillon (Gunsmoke). I also associated the CBS series with pleasure because of the music heard. I did not know Herrmann’s name because no credits were given at the end of the episodes (since the music was a collection of so-called “stock music” cues from various composers edited into each episode). But even back at that young age I felt drawn to the music. Let’s focus first on the Have Gun Will Travel series since the first three seasons (as I write this paper) are now available on dvd. Now: Bernard Herrmann did indeed write an original score for the pilot episode of Have Gun Will Travel starring Richard Boone perfectly cast as Paladin (although I heard, true or not, that Randolph Scott was first offered the role).
