The position of City Mar- shal in Rayne was established in conjunction with the cre- ation of the Rayne City Court in 1946 in the administration of Mayor N. Curtis Petitjean (1946-1948). And, as with the choice of city judges, the commu- nity has seen fi t to elect but few persons to the post of city marshal over the past 74 years – only four, in fact!
