Lord, we humbly come before Your throne. We honor You as the King of kings and Lord of lords. We thank You for the great state of Louisiana and for our elected leaders. We understand righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach. In your multitude of mercies please remember us. Grant to our leaders the leadership of Moses and the character of Joseph. In spite of false accusations, may they seek Your heart and receive fresh revelation. Give them the vision of Joshua and Caleb and the courage of Esther. Who knows, but that they have been brought to the legislature for such a time as this. Give them the passion of David. Even after great sin, he repented and was called a man after Your own heart. Give them the wisdom of Solomon. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Give them the integrity of Daniel and the three Hebrew young men. When faced with ungodly edicts, Daniel continued praying as was his custom. The three boldly said: “Oh King we will not bow.” You were with them in the fire and You delivered them. Give them the faithfulness of Peter who obeyed God rather than man. Most importantly give us the mind of Christ. May we become obedient even to the point of death on the cross or a political career. We declare corruption is unwelcome here. That a shift towards righteousness, and the word of God is beginning now. Don’t let lawmakers be enticed with jobs or bridges. Help us to be mindful of the things of God rather than the things of men. Protect our state from dangerous ideas and our daughters, granddaughters, and sisters from sexual politics in Women’s Sports! Have Your way with our state, In Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen!
