Brief Introduction Palungtar Municipality (area: 158.62 sq. km) is located in Gorkha District in Province 4. The municipality, in its earlier form, was formed by amalgamating erstwhile four Village Development Committees (VDCs), namely Aanppipal, Chyangli, Gaikhur, and Palungtar. Later three more VDCs – Dhunwakot, Khoplang, and Mirkot – were added to form Palungtar Municipality in its present form. The political boundary of Palungtar Municipality is defined as follows: East: Gorkha Municipality West: Marsyangdi River / Bhanu Municipality North: Siranchok Gaupalika South: Marsyangdi River, Bandipur Gaunpalika Palungtar Municipality is approximately 144 km away from the capital city of Kathmandu, and is accessible via Prithivi Highway.
