Our winery is nestled in the heart of the historically important Trebbia valley, where grape vines cover the luxuriant, green hills along the ancient Roman road from to . Here in 218 BC the Romans were attacked by the Carthaginian during the famous battle of Trebbia. In the Middle Ages the Trebbia valley was one of the most important commercial way connecting the Plane to the sea, namely Genoa . There are many castles along the valley which witness its historical importance. The grape varieties produced are Ortrugo, Malvasia di Candia aromatica and other indigenous ones.

Due Querce is our hillside vineyard in Carpaneto Piacentino, so called for the two centuries-old oaks on its skyline. We purchased it in 1996: it is a 15-hectare vineyard where we grow Malvasia and Ortrugo (5,5 Ha) Barbera and Bonarda (9,5 Ha). The training system is the single Guyot. The area's climate and soil combine to produce the perfect environment to yield perfectly ripened grapes. The philosophy for our estate wines is that the best wine is produced in the vineyard. Our viticultural practices, the maintenance of low yields, the use of hand harvesting allow our unique terroir to show through in each vintage. From 1997 we produce the IGT Terre di Veleja Due Querce white and Due Querce red. BonelliTopics: winery • Tradition in vinification
