ABSTRACT Objetive. Present a modern review of the nematodes fauna of the pool frog Pelophylax lessonae (Camerano, 1882) from Volga basin populations on the basis of our own research and literature sources analysis. Materials and methods. Present work consolidates data from different helminthological works over the past 80 years, supported by our own research results. During the period from 1936 to 2016 different authors examined 1460 specimens of pool frog, using the method of full helminthological autopsy, from 13 regions of the Volga basin. Results. In total 9 nematodes species were recorded. Nematode Icosiella neglecta found for the first time in the studied host from the territory of Russia and Volga basin. Three species appeared to be more widespread: Oswaldocruzia filiformis, Cosmocerca ornata and Icosiella neglecta. For each helminth species the following information included: systematic position, areas of detection, localization, biology, list of definitive hosts, the level of host-specificity. Conclusions. Nematodes of pool frog, excluding I. neglecta, belong to the group of soil-transmitted helminthes (geohelminth) and parasitize in adult stages. Some species (O. filiformis, C. ornata, I. neglecta) are widespread in the host range. -

Anguillicoloides crassus is of particular importance, as it has recently spread from its endemic range in the Eastern Pacific to Europe and North America, where it poses a significant threat to new, naïve hosts such as the economic important eel species Anguilla anguilla and Anguilla rostrata. The Anguillicolidae are therefore all potentially invasive taxa, but the relationships of the described species remain unclear. Anguillicolidae is part of Spirurina, a diverse clade made up of only animal parasites, but placement of the family within Spirurina is based on limited data. -

BAKER * Résumé. — Révision du genre Oxysomatium Railliet (f Henry, 1916 [Nematoda, Cosmocer- cidae). — Le genre Neoxysomatium Ballesteros-Mârquez, 1945, est synonyme A'Oxysomatium Bailliet & Henry, 1916 ; ces deux genres ont la même espèce-type. Oxysomatium comprend trois espèces : O. brevicaudatum (Zeder, 1800) [= O. contortum (Linstow, 1906) Baylis, 1927 ; = O. longe- spiculum Railliet & Henry, 1916] ; O. caucasicum (Sharpilo, 1974) n. comb. [= Neoxysomatium caucasicum et O. dollfusi n. sp. O. dollfusi se distingue des autres espèces par les dimensions et la morphologie des spicules et par la répartition géographique. Toutes les autres espèces classées précédemment dans ce genre doivent être assignées à des genres différents. La femelle ^Oxysoma- tium waltoni Skrjabin, Schikhobalova & Mozgovoi, 1951, est inconnue et cette espèce est laissée incertae sedis. Oxysomatium dogieli Skrjabin, 1916, est species dubia. O. tibetanum Baylis, 1927, est transféré dans le genre Cosmocercoides et O. baylisi Walton, 1933, est transféré dans le genre Railliet' nema. Oxysomatium georgianum Reiber, Byrd & Parker, 1940, est un synonyme de Cosmocercoides dukae (Holl). Abstract. — The genus Neoxysomatium Ballesteros-Mârquez, 1945, is shown to be synonymous with Oxysomatium Railliet & Henry, since the type species are the same. Oxysomatium contains only the three following species : O. brevicaudatum (Zeder, 1800) [= O. contortum (Linstow, 1906) Baylis, 1927 ; = O. longespiculum Railliet & Henry, 1916] ; O. caucasicum (Sharpilo, 1974) n. comb. [= Neoxysomatium caucasicum] ; O. dollfusi n. sp. O. dollfusi differs from the other two species in the size and morphology of the spicules and in geographical distribution. -

(Cosmocercidae) from the small intestine of 92 (2) Leptodactylus latrans (Anura: Leptodactylidae) from Northeastern Province of Buenos 92(2) Aires, Argentina is described. The new species can be distinguished from their congeners by a combination of the characters, among which stands out the number of rosette papillae, the lack of gubernaculum and the presence of lateral alae in both sexes. There are over 20 species in the genus Cosmocercoides, and Cosmocercoides latrans n. sp. represents the third species from the Neotropical realm and the second for Argentina. Additionally, seven previously known taxa are reported; Pseudoacanthocephalus cf. lutzi, Catadiscus uruguayensis, Rauschiella palmipedis, Aplectana hylambatis, Cosmocerca parva, Schrankiana sp. and Rhabdias elegans; providing literature records and information on distribution and host-parasite relationships. The examined nematodes are predominantly parasites of fishes. Their analyses provided well-supported trees allowing the study of phylogenetic relationships among some spirurine nematodes. The present results support the placement of Cucullanidae at the base of the suborder Spirurina and, based on the position of the genus Philonema (subfamily Philoneminae) forming a sister group to Skrjabillanidae (thus Philoneminae should be elevated to Philonemidae), the paraphyly of the Philometridae. Comparison of a large number of sequences of representatives of the latter family supports the paraphyly of the genera Philometra, Philometroides and Dentiphilometra. The validity of the newly included genera Afrophilometra and Carangi- nema is not supported. These results indicate geographical isolation has not been the cause of speciation in this parasite group and no coevolution with fish hosts is apparent. On the contrary, the group of South-American species ofAlinema , Nilonema and Rumai is placed in an independent branch, thus markedly separated from other family members. -

Pereira2 Received: 2 May 2019 /Accepted: 15 August 2019 /Published online: 28 August 2019 # Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2019 Abstract Procamallanus (Spirocamallanus) huacraensis infecting the catfish Trichomycterus spegazzinii from Escoipe River, Salta province (Argentina), is redescribed and genetically characterised for the first time, based on three genetic markers (nuclear 18S and 28S rRNA; cytochrome c oxidase subunit I [cox1] mtDNA). The phylogeny of Camallanidae was also discussed. Morphological evaluation of P.(S.) huacraensis using light and scanning electron microscopy revealed the previously undescribed features: location of deirids, accurate morphology of larvae (L1) and ovijector in females, as well as phasmids in males. Differences were found comparing the newly collected material and the type specimens, probably because the original description lacked detailing. Unfortunately, type specimens of P.(S.) huacraensis were no available for loan. The results of morphological and genetic analyses supported the validity of P.(S.) huacraensis. Inconsistencies regarding the taxonomic identification of species of Camallanidae in GenBank database were noted. Based on the current genetic database of Camallanidae, phylogenetic reconstructions using the 18S rRNA sequences were most consistent, due to the inclusion of higher number of taxa. Procamallanus (S.) huacraensis appeared as sister group of P.(S.) rarus, also isolated from a catfish in a neighbouring region. -
