So, I would request the Government to fulfil all the conditions. … ( Interruptions ) RAO INDERJIT SINGH: Madam, before NITI Aayog was formed, the Planning Commission used to address the issue of disparity among States through a Fund called the ‘Backward Regions Grant Fund’. Ever since the Planning Commission has been substituted by NITI Aayog, the States get funds as per the recommendations of the 14 th Finance Commission. … ( Interruptions ) The recommendations of the 14 th Finance Commission in toto have been accepted by the Government. It means, in a sense, the devolution of funds to States will increase from the earlier 32 per cent to now 42 per cent. So, a 10 per cent increase from the Central divisible pool of taxes is now accruing to various States. The States themselves are now competent to address these intrastate disparities with this extra fund. … ( Interruptions ) As far as the schemes of the Central Government are concerned, their number has been brought down from 147 to 66.
