BE A MOVER - NEWSLETTER #1 Dear be a mover Community! A MESSAGE FROM ANJA LEHNER HEAD OF CORPORATE SPONSORING & PR, DAIMLER AG You are reading the first, but certainly not the last be a mover newsletter. In future it will keep you informed about our activities and events, and also profile members of the community. What’s more, you are always welcome to join in! We “are always open to ideas on how to actively get something moving in the world. 1 BE A MOVER - NEWSLETTER #1 BE A MOVER - NEWSLETTER #1 2 TIM RITTMANN, PABLO WENDEL, ALEXANDER MANKOWSKY, CLAUDIA EISINGER, LEONIE WOIDT-WALLISER T. ERNST 3 BE A MOVER - NEWSLETTER #1 DAIMLER TALK CAN TECHNOLOGY BRING US BACK TO NATURE? The question “Where do you see yourself five years from now?” was probably not answered correctly by anybody in 2015. 2020 was an absolutely exceptional year, with a virus that has greatly challenged the en- tire world and continues to do so. When we held the first “Daimler Talk” in February, COVID-19 was not yet a factor, at least in Germany - instead the question was whether technology can bring us back to nature. Daimler future researcher Alexander Man- kowsky, artist Pablo Wendel, actress Clau- dia Eisinger and permaculture expert Leonie Woidt-Walliser spoke about how technology and nature can come together. The Talk was rounded off by a meditation session with SixFeetPalace. And unfortunately the subsequent get-together was the last physical meeting by the community. If we want to see changes in behavior, we first need to change our mindset. We can achieve this with such discussions. “ANJA LEHNER BE A MOVER - NEWSLETTER #1 4 What counts for the future is to become genui- nely CO2-neutral, and also to remove CO2 from the atmosphere. This is the challenge that we all “as a society, as well as we as a company, have to overcome. ALEXANDER MANKOWSKY, FUTURE TECHNOLOGIES DAIMLER AG 5 BE A MOVER - NEWSLETTER #1 BE A MOVER - NEWSLETTER #1 6 COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES BE A MOVER COMMUNITY MEMBERS TAKE RESPONSIBILITY 7 BE A MOVER - NEWSLETTER #1 COVID-19 made sure that social life was severely restricted. And the “be a mover” events were no exception. The response from the community was all the more rapid: we have to do something! We need to help those who are most affected. 01. Amihai Grosz, principal violist of the Berliner Philharmonic orches- tra, held a concert in a home for senior citizens in Berlin, together with Claudia Eisinger and Mark Pinhasov. 02. Jochen Stutzky did the shopping for elderly neighbors, and appea- led to others to follow his example. An idea that was soon picked up by others within the community. Marijke Smitt, Annika Ernst, Steve Windolf, Julia Dor- ny, Timur Bartels, Britta Heidemann, Matthias Dolderer and many more also joined in. 03. Franz Dinda and Till Brönner came up with a very special initiative: together they organized reading concerts in homes for the blind in Berlin. Franz Dinda read from the works of Stefan Zweig, and Till Brönner accompanied him on the trumpet. BE A MOVER - NEWSLETTER #1 8 FRANZ DINDA The “reading concert” was a really unforgettable experience for our residents. We are very grate- ful to Franz, Till and of course Daimler for giving “us the benefit of this event. STEFAN FISCHER, HEAD OF BWS SPANDAU BE A MOVER - NEWSLETTER #1 10 WE CARE WE DO WE MOVE TV EPISODE 1 FOR MORE DIVERSITY, RESPECT AND TOLERANCE However, it was not just the pandemic that rocked society in 2020. The events in America led to the “Black Lives Matter” movement. This became an integral part of the first WE CARE WE DO WE MOVE TV episode. Anja Lehner and Jochen Stutzky spoke to Lewis Hamilton and Toto Wolff about discrimination and the initiative by the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula 1 Team. Anja and Jochen will also use WE CARE WE DO WE MOVE TV in future, to talk about the social engagement activities of Daimler AG and discuss current topics. Since the start of this format, his guests have included Toto Wolff, Team Principal and CEO of Mercedes-AMG Petronas; the head of the CAR Institute Ferdinand Dudenhöffer; the Olympic, world and European champion Britta Heidemann and the CEO of Rhein Ruhr City GmbH, Michael Mronz. With the support of Daimler AG, Leon Löwentraut ensured that three young artists could take part in SyltArt. A welcome initiative for young talents, who particularly suffer from the restrictions imposed by coronavirus. Matthias Dolderer and Britta Heidemann also made sure they attended the event. The theme of “Courage” was therefore very apt for this year’s “Film without borders” festival. David Roth, Steve Windolf and Eric Gauthier attended the opening dialog, and found out more about LGB- TIQ and the approach of Daimler AG to this topic. It is said that fashion is the mirror of society, and we see numerous campaigns with models of extremely diverse appearance. I think that this “trend will also have its effect in more conserva- tive areas of the economy, and that we will see a transformation. Once again, the focus was on sponsorship of the arts by Daimler AG. There was another review of SyltArt, and an in-depth interview with Leon Löwentraut. Other stories covered included the ‘Project Geländewagen’ G-Class with Virgil Abloh and Gorden Wagener, as well as the WE ARE PART OF CULTURE exhibition. A further highlight was provided by discussions with artist Alicja Kwade and Foundation chairman Prof. Walter Smerling on the subject of Diversity United, the exciting exhibition that will open its doors in Berlin next spring. FEDERATION INTERNATIONALE DE L' AUTOMOBILE 2018 FIA Formula One World Championship Australian Grand Prix Friday Press Conference Transcript 23.03.2018 TEAM REPRESENTATIVES –Toto WOLFF (Mercedes), Maurizio ARRIVABENE (Ferrari), Christian HORNER (Red Bull Racing) PRESS CONFERENCE A question to all of you to start with, what sort of shape are you in relative to each going into this new championship? After all, one of your is likely to be the world champion team at the end of it. Christian, why don’t you start? Christian HORNER: First of all, it’s great to be back in Melbourne, good to be going racing again. It seems like a long winter this one. A positive first session for us, though obviously difficult to read too much into times but you start to get an bit of an idea. You can see Mercedes taking off where they left off; they look in great shape. I think we made good progress with the car over the winter. The drivers seem happy and I’m envisaging a quite tight battle with Maurizio but I’m not sure at the moment what the delta is to Toto’s cars. Toto? Toto WOLFF: Again, like Christian said, it’s good to get started again. We’ve had a pretty good test, much better than last year. But you’re never very sure where that will end up in the first race and the first session was OK, as expected. We didn’t see the Ferraris on the tyres that we have been running, and we need a little bit more time to understand, but I would say it’s a decent start.

I felt comfortable right the way through and it was great to finally get another win at one of the real classic F1 circuits. Now, we head to another of those in Monza. It’s an awesome track – so fast and with some of the most passionate fans you’ll see anywhere in the world. I was actually at this circuit with Sir Stirling Moss earlier this year, driving the banking in his old Mercedes W 196, which was just awesome. Having that taste of what it was like for those guys back in the day really gives you a feel for the history of this place and why it became so legendary. It’s still a big challenge today, too. Fast, but really technical at the same time with some heavy braking and big kerbs to ride for the best line. Racing in Italy brings back a lot of good memories for me and I’d love to add to those this weekend, so that’s the aim. Nico Rosberg Page 2 The race in Spa was definitely disappointing. My start was not good so I need to work on that and also on finding those extra tenths in qualifying to get back on top there.

Beat: Sports 2016 European Grand Prix Preview Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula 1 Team Baku City Circuit, 15.06.2016, 00:41 Time USPA NEWS - The 2016 Formula One World Championship continues this weekend with Round Eight, the European Grand Prix from Azerbaijan, The latest addition to the Formula One calendar, Baku City Circuit designed by renowned F1 track architect Hermann Tilke. Lewis Hamilton - Last weekend was a really positive one for me. I felt strong on Friday, got the pole on Saturday and then just felt phenomenal in the car during the race. The balance was perfect and I had the speed whenever I needed it, which is everything you want as a driver. After the first five races, I could never have predicted I´d be back at the sharp end of the title fight so soon. But we´re starting to have cleaner weekends as a team and are showing real strength as a unit ““ coming through with results even when things aren´t perfect. That´s a big confidence boost for everyone. Winning is our lives ““ it´s what we work all day for and go to bed dreaming of. Of course, there´s still a very long way to go and work to be done. From my side, there´s never been a doubt in my mind in terms of what I can do with this car and I´ve shown once again that I´m just as focused as ever. I can´t wait to get to Baku, experience another new country and see what we can do out on track.

We’ve run the same programme as we run every race weekend but this time we had the whole of both sessions to work with the tyres, look at long runs, analyse setup and the countless other things you need to assess in practice which was great. We made good steps forward with the setup but, as always, there is still more time to be found. We’ll keep chipping away at it and look to improve in every area possible but the car feels great – the best I’ve ever driven here without doubt.
