The 14th edition of ” The Peine International Pipe Band Championships” includes Grade 4 (March), 4 (MSR),3, 2 and Open Grade.

The pipe band competition complies with the rules of the BAG and the RSPBA and will be judged by adjudicators from The Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association. This event is part of the 19th edition of The Peine Highland Gathering and will take place in the city park of Peine, situated in , near , Germany and offering a range of activities with ample opportunities for musical and social contacts.

The drum major competition complies with the rules of the RSPBA and will be judged by an adjudicator from The Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association.

Meeting point: For all Folks who come on Friday, 5th May: Please, enjoy food, drinks and music at The Owl Town Pub, Peine, Hagenmarkt (open from 18.00 h)

Parking Area: At the „Schützenplatz“ (in front of the Stadtpark) are marked areas for cars and coaches (only for participants)

When you have arrived: Please, contact the Information stand of the Scottish Culture Club Peine! Each band will get a steward there, who led the bands to their tuning places and the competition arenas. Please note: Tuning is only allowed in the tuning park!

A well known Folk Band gives an open air concert on the stage in the Stadtpark at Saturday evening. All stands are open until 11.00 P.M

After the Concert:

For all folks, who can’t get enough, is “The Owl Town Pub” open, just 200 mtrs. away from the Stadtpark

THE PIPE BANDS MUST BE WILLING TO PLAY ON REQUEST – AS A DUTY BAND – ONE OR MORE HEATS DURING THE DRUM MAJOR CONTEST AND THE PIPE BAND PARADE FOR THE PRIZE GIVING CEREMONY!

GRADE 4 - MARCH: 8 PARTS OF MARCHES OR HORNPIPES IN SIMPLE TIME WITHOUT TEMPO CHANGING BY YOUR OWN CHOICE GRADE 4 - MSR: MSR UNDER RSPBA GRADE 4A RULES THIS CAN BE 1 X 4 PARTED MARCH OR 2 X 2 PARTED MARCHES, 2 X 2 PARTED STRATHSPEYS AND 2 X 2 PARTED REELS. ALL TUNES PLAYED MUST COME FROM THE "RSPBA PRESCRIBED TUNE LIST”: HTTP://WWW.RSPBA.ORG/HTML/PRESCRIBEDTUNES.PHP GRADE 3: MEDLEY 3 - 5 MIN. GRADE 2: MARCH / STRATHSPEY / REEL (AT LEAST 4 PARTS EACH) BY YOUR OWN CHOICE.
