FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Press Contact: Rebecca Eaddy Marketing Communications Manager Roland Corporation U.S. (323) 890-3718 [email protected] ROLAND GEAR ON “THE VOICE” SUMMER TOUR The Fantom-G8, V-Piano Stage and VK-88 Hit the Road Los Angeles, CA, August 9, 2011 — “The Voice” Musical Director Paul Mirkovich and keyboardist Eric Daniels hit the road this summer for the Sprint Presents “The Voice” Live On Tour with Roland Fantom-G8 keyboard workstations, V-Piano Stage pianos, and VK-88 combo organs in tow along with all eight semi-finalists from NBC’s hit show. “The Voice” drummer, Nate Morton, also performed with an arsenal of Roland’s highly acclaimed percussion gear, including the world leading TD-20X percussion module, SPD-S sampling drum pad, and RT series triggers. Mirkovich, Morton, and Daniels used their Roland instruments on every episode of “The Voice” during the show’s first season, and a second-season post Super Bowl premier was just announced. “The Voice” will air directly following the Super Bowl XLVI on Sunday, February 5, 2012 (10-11 p.m. ET; time approximate) and will premier in its regular day and time the following night, Monday, February 6 (8-10 p.m. ET). "We wouldn't dream of undertaking a project as musically rich and complex as “The Voice” without Roland and their amazing products,” said Clyde Lieberman, Senior Music Producer, Mark Burnett Productions. Roland’s diverse and innovative roster of electronic musical instruments forged an integral bridge between musicality, talent, and showmanship during the show’s season debut earlier this year. Contestants from “The Voice” used a Roland V-Piano GRAND for their performances and were provided a FP-4F digital piano for their rehearsals. “The Voice” winner Javier Colon was immersed in music at a really young age, which led to writing his own songs by age 13, and was followed by touring gigs, a contract with Capitol Records, and an endorsement with Cakewalk PC music products. Roland U.S. began distributing all Cakewalk by Roland branded PC music products in 2010. As a devoted husband and father of two, Javier finally hit a career high note with his win on “The Voice,” and as a result can now simultaneously support his family and musical aspirations. Javier was awarded the “The Voice” crown, a recording contract, and $100,000 on June 29 among the talented group of finalists that included Dia Frampton, Beverly McClellan, and Vicci Martinez. All finalists performed during the June 29 finale and were headed by a team of acclaimed musician coaches Adam Levine (Colon), Christina Aguilera (McClellan), Cee Lo Green (Martinez) and Blake Shelton (Frampton). Offi cers responded to a call at 12:12 p.m. indicating a man had been stabbed in the neck. He was found in the shower, and paramedics brought him to Shands at UF, Maj. Brad Barber said. Barber added he could not com- ment on the condition of the student, whose name was not released due to the sensitivity of the circumstance. Offi cers originally believed someone attacked the stu- dent, but after interviews with people at the scene, UPD concluded he tried to take his own life, Barber said. The department doesn’t expect to fi le any criminal charges. One student said when he went to take a shower around 10 a.m. Wednesday, the bathroom fl oor was fl ooded when he walked in and another shower was run- ning.
