SAILING BOAT CERTIFICATE and HOLIDAYS in GREECE, all in ONE Week!

You may now obtain your Greek-EU SAILING Boat Certificate of Competence for Off shore, during 7 days of full sailing training, while enjoying your holidays around the Greek islands and coasts! The Program consists of 45 hours of practice, along with 10 hours of theory and the examination, during a trip of ONE full WEEK. (Alternatively, if you reside in Athens, you may train during 10 meetings in 5 consecutive weekends).

The license you will receive is the one officially recognized by the Greek State (Ministry of Sports – Hellenic Sailing Federation), issued through NOEF (Nautical Athletic Club Peace & Friendship). The Instructor Captain Cesare Rodo is accredited by the Greek Ministry of Sports and the Greek Sailing Federation and coach at the Nautical Athletic Club of Peace & Friendship (NOEF). He is registered by the State as official offshore sailing coach and has a track record of hundreds of sailing regattas, trophies and distinctions.

This license, as Offshore Skipper Certificate, allows the navigation of a sailing boat up to 60 feet long, with unlimited distance from the shore and for day and night cruising. It is recognized in the countries of the European Union.

Up to 4 trainees may attend weekly, which allows each to spend as much time as possible in all positions of the boat.

Form your own group of 4 and register ! At end of the training week, on the last day of practice you will take the exam in writing on board in English language, that leads to the License. All training is based on the principle of safety. Necessary measures are taken for safety at sea (life jackets of the latest type, safety lines) but also for Covid 19 protection (masks, thermometry, oximetry, etc).

WHERE and WHEN we shall TRAIN

- Our training field will be the friendly Argolic-Saronic gulf off Athens, with many islands, coves, coasts and ports available, a variety of winds and beautiful sightseeing. - We shall depart from the Athens marina of NOEF Yacht Club, to reach the port of Methana on the first day. From there we shall practice sailing and visit the islands of Poros, Angistri, Moni, (Hydra and Epidavros weather permitting), and Aegina port as our last stop during the week, before we return to Athens on the last day. - The Program is available from beginning of April to end November, combining memorable holidays under the Greek sun, enjoying crystal water swimming and snorkeling and tasting superb cuisine in port tavernas (or on board).

TIMING & ARRANGEMENTS

- We sail out on a Saturday 11am from NOEF Nautical Club, and will return the following Saturday by noon. We shall practice every day, morning to evening at sea, with swimming and lunch intervals! At week's end you shall be ready to successfully pass the exam for the Sailing Certificate to be awarded in form of a credit card! - The four (4) trainees will sleep in two double-bed cabins. Two boats are available for training with holidays, one with two and one with three cabins. On the boat with 3 cabins, the owner/captain accompanies the Instructor as assistant. - We take breakfast, light lunch, snacks, fruits and drinks on board, and will go out for dinner in quality tavernas. - Location of NOEF Nautical Club is very convenient, behind Peace & Friendship stadium in Piraeus, with access by metro, tram, bus or car. Very easy for taxi also. The Bus fare to/from the Athens Airport is 6€/ person, number 'X96'. Taxi to/from airport will cost 38€ and takes up to 4 persons.

The TRAINING BOATS

- Two training boats are available: the one is 'Casta Diva', a GRAND SOLEIL 343 sailing yacht, perfectly equipped with all sport equipment (sails, ropes etc) necessary to learn and to practice sailing. It has two cabins - The 3 Cabin training sailing boat is an ELAN 384 Impression, comfortable for 6 guests. - Both boats are inspected and approved yearly by Ship Registers, comply to regulations, contain full safety features and equipment and are insured. - The boats feature a kitchen with cooking gas, interior bathrooms and exterior shower with hot water. For residence, sheets and towels, blankets and pillows are provided.

The TRAINER

- The course is directed by professional Sailing instructor Captain CESARE RODO, who has 34 years of sailing experience, and is officially accredited trainer and coach, qualified and registered by the Greek Sailing authorities and the ISSA. He has participated in hundreds of sailing regattas, national and international in all weather conditions, having won many trophies with his team. He is the Coach for Offshore Sailing at the Nautical Athletic Club of Peace & Friendship (NOEF) and owns a private sailing yacht fully equipped and rigged for professional training and performance racing. He is assisted by co-Captain CONSTANTINOS ARETEOS, also very experienced sailor for 33 years, with many miles and races in his record in the Greek seas. Captains speak English, Italian, French, Spanish (and of course Greek), and will be your instructors in sailing, leading to the Certificate, but also your guides to local history, gastronomy and area sightseeing!

PRICING

- The total includes the weekly Training, the Certificate, exam fees & issuing, and boat Accommodation per person, for a group of up to 4 persons. Notes on Sailing Theory provided. - Price also includes, linen, shower towels (sea towels upon request), pillows, blankets (for cold months), marina fees, cook gas, end cleaning and safety equipment (life vests). Available a dinghy with outboard and a kayak for exercising ! - Does not include food & drink provisions or boat fuel consumption which is minimal. - Price is 870€/ person in High season (12 June to 18 September), 1.150€ / person for 3 persons, and 1.700€ / person for 2 (which is the minimum). - 830€ in Mid season (15 May to 12 June and 19 September to 23 October). - 790€ in Low season (13 March to 15 May and 24 October to 28 November). - To ENROLL, a 70€ deposit is required as advance payment in the NOED Bank account (which we shall send you). Full payment upon arrival, before embarking for the weekly trip.

HOW TO PREPARE

- To enjoy your training and vacation, you should have with you a waterproof jacket and pants, gloves, hat, shoes with white-non sliding sole, sunglasses, sunscreen, clothes for training and for going out, as well as warm clothes (especially in the coldest periods of April-May and mid- September-November). We can recommend gear if you do not have. - Please carry folding luggage (not a hard case). - We buy food and beverage provisions before departure and in the ports for the whole team! - We enjoy our drink after training in the evening when we relax. - No previous sailing experience is required by crew.
