Tim Chambers Head Coach Third Season Tim Chambers enters his third season as the head coach of the UNLV Reb- els baseball team. The Rebels went 26-31 in his second year at the helm after he led UNLV to a 33-25 mark in 2011, marking the first time the squad at UNLV had reached the 30-win plateau since the 2005 season. YEAR RECORD ACCOLADES 2011 33-25 In 2012, Chambers reached a career milestone early in the season, his 2012 26-31 500th win. He came into the season needing only one win, and the Rebels 2013 14-3 help him reach the historic mark with a 6-1 win over Loyola Marymount in the Record 73-59 second game of the season.

Chambers ushered in a new era of Rebel baseball in dramatic fashion, at College of Southern Nevada racing out to the best start in program history through 21 games, posting a 17-4 mark. In that span, UNLV went from unranked to cracking the top-30 in YEAR RECORD ACCOLADES both the National College Baseball Writers Association and the USA Today/ 2000 47-10 ESPN Coaches polls for three consecutive weeks. 2001 52-9 2002 42-17 Among the 33 wins in 2011 were three over nationally ranked opponents, 2003 55-10 SWAC Champions/Region 18 Champions/ including No. 9 TCU, No. 11 UC Irvine and No. 14 Arizona. The 23 wins at Western Disctrict Champions/NJCAA National Wilson Stadium were the most at home since the 2004 season when UNLV Champions/Region 18 Coach of the Year/ posted a 26-10 mark. ABCA Coach of the Year/NJCAA National Coach of the Year Four Rebels earned all-conference honors following the season while two 2004 39-20-1 SWAC Co-Champions were named All-Americans. Junior pitcher Tanner Peters became the first 2005 46-14 SWAC Champions/Region 18 UNLV hurler to earn conference pitcher of the year honors and was named Coach of the Year a Louisville Slugger Third Team All-American while closer Zack Hartman 2006 13-45 became UNLV’s first freshman All-American since 2003. 2007 41-18 SWAC Champions/Region 18 Coach of the Year/ABCA Coach of the Year One of the country’s most successful baseball mentors at the high school, 2008 44-16 SWAC Champions/ Region 18 Champions/ American Legion and then junior college levels over the past two decades, ABCA Coach of the Year Chambers took over the Rebels after 11 seasons leading the nationally 2009 35-20 2nd Place SWAC ranked College of Southern Nevada program. Before moving to CSN, Chambers served as head coach at Las Vegas’ Bishop Gorman High School from 1991-99 where he won six con- secutive Sunset Division championships (1992-97) and was the state runner-up in 1997. The NIAA High School Baseball Coach of the Year in 1993 and ‘94 was also head coach of the American Legion Las Vegas Knights from 1991-99, winning numerous local, regional and national awards. The three-time state champions played in the 1998 American Legion World Series and finished the season ranked fifth in the nation.

After a college playing career that saw him named all-conference at three different schools, including earning All-America honors at Dixie Col- lege in 1984, Chambers earned his bachelor’s degree from Southern Utah University in 1989. BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - No. 21 UNLV baseball (14-3) won its 10th consecutive game with an 8-6 victory over CSU Bakersfield (10-6) on Tuesday night. It is the first time since 1991 that UNLV has had at least a 10-game winning streak. The Rebels scored a run in the second, third and sixth innings. In the seventh they scored three and added two more in the eighth before the Roadrunners were on the board. CSU Bakersfield rallied in the bottom of the eighth, scoring six runs, two of which were earned. Senior Brandon Bayardi led the Rebels, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and a run scored, including a seventh inning home run. It was the first home run hit by any Rebel this sea- son. Senior Mark Shannon earned his second win of the season. He pitched 7.0 innings, allowing five hits and one walk while striking out eight. Senior Andrew Beresford earned his second save of the season, pitching 1.1 innings, allowing one hit and one walk. As a team, UNLV had 11 hits and stole a season-high six bases in the game.
