This is a very special UWC newsletter, as it has been created by UWC summer students from Toronto, Victoria (BC) and Budapest. Here is the talented youth team that put this issue together.

The UWC Kyiv Office Meets with Oleg Sentsov
On June 14, UWC Mission to Ukraine held a meeting with the representatives of Release of Political Prisoners platform Oleg Sentsov, Ihor Kozlovsky, Pavlo and Ihor Hryb The discussion focused on key issues of the situation with Ukrainian political prisoners of the Kremlin and human rights in Russian-occupied Crimea and Donbas.

July 6, 2021 – Kyiv. Heads of the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) as well as leaders of Ukrainian communities from South Africa and Italy participated in the all- Ukrainian forum “Ukraine 30. International Politics”. During his speech, UWC President Paul Grod emphasized the role of plural citizenship in Ukraine’s development.

Meet the UWC 2021 Summer Students

These positions were made possible thanks to the Canada Summer Jobs program and through support provided by the Alumni Internship Program for FLEX and YES from South-East Europe and Senegal.

Ukrainians All Over the World Join Together to Support Ukraine
Coventry Ukrainian Community, UK Ukrainians of Toronto, Canada Ukrainians the world over were brought together this past week in celebration of the amazing plays and displays of teamwork by our Ukrainian National Football Team. For the first time in the team's history, Ukraine made it to the quarterfinals and although they will not be continuing on in the Euro 2020 competition, we are proud of their hard work and dedication in proving to the world that Ukraine is the team to beat!
Ukrainian Days in Moldova
The first ever Ukrainian Days in Moldova was held on June 19th in Chisinau, Moldova. The event promoted ukrainian culture and sought to develop humanitarian ties between Moldova and Ukraine.

US-UA Working Group Summit
The forum organized by the US- UA brought together government and key non-government representatives from Ukraine, Canada, the EU, and the US to take measure of Ukraine’s 2020-2021 progress/regress in a number of categories.

The Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) successfully lobbied for the removal of the vodka brand "Stalinskaya" which used the name of the former soviet dicator Joseph Stalin.

Alberta council for Ukrainian Arts “Threads that connect us 2021”
