Nothing of this could have happened if the GK volunteers did not dare to believe in the potential of invisible future realities. So many people complain about the problems. But how many will sacrifice their time and energy to invest in transforming the existing reality? We need more of these ordinary servant leaders. MIRACLES OF SOLIDARITY. The power of solidarity is immensely underestimated. Between April and June of 2014, Gawad Kalinga organized a national event to rebuild houses and boats, repair schools and do medical missions in the Philippines in areas devastated by super ty- phoon Haiyan. An unprecedented 1.6 million volunteers participated during this period, out of solidarity.
