Wednesday 27 May 2020 DOLLY PARTON’S 9 TO 5 (L,D) Welcome to our tour to Sydney featuring Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5 the Musical and the 2020 Vivid Lights Festival. We make our way through the Blue Mountains and just north of Penrith we stop at the Vine Cottage Tool Museum and Tea Rooms. This venue exhibits a wide and varied range of tradesman tools dating back from Australia’s early colonial era. We enjoy a talk from the owners about their collection and then our High Tea style lunch is served in the Tea Rooms. This afternoon we arrive in Sydney and have some free time following check in, then we head to the Star Casino for dinner at the Harvest Buffet, followed by the 7pm performance of 9 to 5 the musical at Sydney’s Lyric Theatre. Inspired by the hit film, this hilarious musical is about teaming up, standing up and taking care of business. This smash-hit West End musical features a book by the iconic movie’s original screenwriter Patricia Resnick and an Oscar, Grammy and Tony award-nominated score by the Queen of Country herself, Dolly Parton including her much-loved hit song, 9 to 5!

Thursday 28 May 2020 ARCHIBALD PRIZE & VIVID SYDNEY CRUISE (BLD) This morning we will be visiting The Art Gallery of NSW where we have arranged a guided tour to see the 2020 Archibald Prize finalists. First awarded in 1921, it is one of Australia’s oldest and most prestigious art awards. Judged by the trustees of the Art Gallery of NSW and awarded to the best portrait painting, the Archibald Prize exhibition is a who’s who of Australian culture – from politicians to celebrities, sporting heroes to artists. Following our tour, we have morning tea in the café and some free time to look through the gallery. Lunch today is in the City Tattersalls Club and this afternoon we will be taking a tour of the NSW Parliament. See the legislative chambers and experience first-hand the beautiful colonial architecture while learning more about the role, history and work of the Parliament. For dinner tonight, we join Majestic Cruises and enjoy a 3-hour Vivid Sydney buffet dinner cruise. We can see the dazzling city skyline from the Majestic decks and view the spectacular artwork on the Opera House from various angles as we cruise around Sydney Harbour. What a wonderful way to finish our day!

Friday 29 May 2020 HEADING HOME (BL) Following breakfast, we depart central Sydney and make our way to the new Sydney Zoo located in western Sydney. Home to a wide range of iconic animal species, this modern zoo is the first built in Sydney for almost 100 years. We can see the exotic and native species, as well as the water features and elevated boardwalks and an immersive, safari-like experience for visitors. Before departing the Zoo, we enjoy lunch and then start our return journey home, that will see us arriving back in the afternoon.
