Come and join in the fun on our exciting and spectacular 3-day tour to Dolly Parton’s rip-roaring musical – 9 to 5. Inspired by the hit film and brought to us by Dolly herself, this hilarious musical is about teaming up, standing up and taking care of business. This tour also features Australia’s iconic ‘city of lights!’ during the 2020 Vivid Sydney Festival. Featuring an outdoor 'gallery' of extraordinary lighting sculptures and of course the spectacular illumination of the Sydney Opera. House sails Day 1: Sat 23 May 2020 Home to Sydney LD Welcome to our 3-day tour to Sydney featuring Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5 the Musical and the 2020 Vivid Lights Festival. We make our way to Canberra and then stop for lunch at the Royal Hotel Bungendore. This afternoon we head to Bowral for a delightful visit to Fairground Follies. Be enchanted by the sights and sounds of this museum, akin to visiting an old-fashioned amusement park with its collection of self-playing instruments and mechanical music, fair organs, street organs and a 100-year-old steam carousel. Late afternoon we arrive in Sydney and settle into our rooms before we meet again for dinner. Day 2: Sun 24 May 2020 9 to 5 The Musical & Vivid BD This morning we will be visiting The Art Gallery of NSW where we have arranged a guided tour to see the 2020 Archibald Prize finalists. First awarded in 1921, it is one of Australia’s oldest and most prestigious art awards. Judged by the trustees of the Art Gallery of NSW and awarded to the best portrait painting, the Archibald Prize exhibition is a who’s who of Australian culture – from politicians to celebrities, sporting heroes to artists. Following our tour, we have morning tea in the café and some free time to look through the gallery. This afternoon we make our way to the 1-pm performance of 9 to 5 the musical at Sydney’s Lyric Theatre. Inspired by the hit film, this hilarious musical is about teaming up, standing up and taking care of business. This smash-hit West End musical features a book by the iconic movie’s original screenwriter Patricia Resnick and an Oscar, Grammy and Tony award-nominated score by the Queen of Country herself, Dolly Parton including her much-loved hit song, 9 to 5! For dinner tonight, we join Magistic Cruises and enjoy a 3-hour Vivid Sydney buffet dinner cruise. We can see the dazzling city skyline from the Magistic decks and view the spectacular artwork on the Opera House from various angles as we cruise around Sydney Harbour. What a wonderful way to finish our day!
