EMPLOYING PEOPLE WHO ARE BLIND IN THE ASSEMBLY OF DOOR HARDWARE

As the largest single source of jobs for people who are blind or have significant disabilities, the AbilityOne program employs more than 45,000 individuals, including 3,000 of who are military veterans and wounded warriors. The AbilityOne program leverages a national network of more than 550 community-based nonprofit agencies and is administered by an independent Federal Agency- the U.S. AbilityOne Commission. Many citizens who are blind or have a significant disability are willing and eager to work, yet nearly 70% are unemployed.

The AbilityOne Commission introduced the co-brand SKILCRAFT/PDQ for door hardware products on February 5, 2016. These products are being produced by VisionCorps a nonprofit agency based in Lancaster PA. As an AbilityOne Distributor and Industry Partner with VisionCorps. PDQ’s SCS Series Spring Cushion Stop helps reduce wear and tear on the opening. As the door begins moving through backcheck to its maximum opening angle, the stop acts as a shock absorber, dampening the impact forces.

MR Series Mortise Locks Lifetime Warranty LIMITED WARRANTY PDQ Manufacturing (“PDQ”) warrants that, during the applicable XGT Series Lifetime Warranty warranty period set forth in the chart to the left, its products will be free from defects in workmanship and materials under normal use GT Series 25-Year Warranty and service conditions. If a product or a component part thereof is found to be defective, PDQ will, at its sole discretion, either repair SX Series 5-Year Warranty or replace such defective item. If PDQ no longer manufactures GRADE 2 LOCK PRODUCT the particular product or component, PDQ reserves the right to substitute an item which PDQ deems to be comparable or superior GP Series 8-Year Warranty in its place.

SD Series 5-Year Warranty A warranty claim must be initiated by calling PDQ’s toll-free number at 800-441-9692. A brief description of the defect will be required, SV Series 1-Year Warranty and further instructions for returning the product will be given. The provision of return instructions is not a guarantee that the SW Series 1-Year Warranty product will be covered under this warranty.
