KEYED ALIKE This refers to a number of locks each operated by the same key. This is also referred to as alike change, locks to pass or keyed to pass; 3 different locks all keyed alike

Yale’s long standing history and experience in the manufacture of nightlatches means that the locks are commonly referred to as ‘Yale locks’. Recently our product packaging has been changed to reflect this. Yale offer a wide range of nightlatches including locks to meet BS 3621 & BS 8621.

BS EN1303 CLASSIFICATION This standard classifies cylinders using a 8 digit coding system. Each digit refers to a particular feature of the product measured against the standard’s performance requirements. Digit 1 - Category of use - Grade 1: Keys shall resist a torque of 2.5Nm and still be usable. Digit 2 - Durability - Grade 4: 25 000 cycles completed. - Grade 5: 50 000 cycles completed. - Grade 6: 100 000 cycles completed. Digit 3 - Door mass - No requirement. Yale offer a comprehensive range of padlocks which are ideal for commercial, industrial and residential use. The range includes open, close variants to suit the particular application, together with a choice of hardened steel, bronze or brass & Molybdenum shackle. In addition, a range of hasps and staples is available to complement the padlock range. Yale have introduced a performance rating on residential padlocks to help you choose the right padlock. This is based on the CEN rating.
Yale is accredited with and meets the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001:2000
TESTING As part of the Yale commitment to provide products to meet customer requirements, Yale padlocks are subjected to exacting test programmes. These test padlocks to BSEN 12320: 2001 for operating durability, resistance to corrosion as well as strength against different forms of attack such as drilling, sawing and twisting. The Yale strength rating system has been developed to enable the true evaluation of the physical security of padlocks and is classified in 6 grades based on tests that simulate attack. For extra security many Yale padlocks feature double locking and self- latching devices. Note that all maximum security padlocks conform to CEN grades 4.

How does it work?
