Dr. Giovanni Bombace gives a list of Cypriot Molluscs in Dr. Vito Fodcra F.A.O. EPTA Report No. 1436 on the Fishery Development Possi bilities of Cyprus. No other references have been traced. This study of the Molluscs of Cyprus ¡s based on information compiled over the last four years from dredging, trawling, diving and beach collections. A collection of all species identified is available in the Museum of the Fisheries Department. The second part of this paper (Part B) will deal with the Class Bivalvia (Lamellibranchiata). (11-12 whorls) (3.5 mm. tube diameter. 7 mm. x 21 mm. shell), ridges Hat and deeply groved between whorls — ridges not continuous and spirals as in Scala communis — No umbilicus. Frequent, general distribution. 1.2.6 Epitoneum sp. 1.2.6 Dark brown shell 12 mm. 8 whorls, shell shape similar to Scala communis — Ridges raised but slightly folded and joined and spiraling as in Scala communis. No umbilicus. Single white band spiraling on ridges. 1.2.7 1.2.4.2. Janthinidae Janthina communis (Lank.) 25 mm. Seasonally common when washed on beaches by high winds and waves in Famagusta Bay and Morphou Bay. Janthina nitens (Menke) 18 mm. North Coast and Fama gusta Bay — 20 fathoms — but distribution general. 1 .2.10 .2. Morphou Bay Smaller darker variety in Morphou Bay with more brilliant orange colouration. In Famagusta Bay more lightly coloured. Common in Morphou Bay. Occasional in Famagusta Bay, not recorded elsewhere. Nassa neritea (L.) 9 mm. Common Famagusta tidal flats (lagoon) and Paphos harbour — not recorded elsewhere. Nassa reticulatus (L.) 11 mm.
