Light, art, innovation and design come together. Vincent van Gogh was born in Brabant. Nowhere else. Nowhere else can you cycle past the places that inspired Van Gogh and which in turn have inspired others… Right up to this very day!

Designer, artist, entrepreneur Daan Roosegaarde is a good example of this. In Eindhoven, just on the edge of Nuenen there is a unique cycle path inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s The Starry Night. Never before was a cycle path so inspiring. The cycle path is 600 metres in length and is one of the highlights “The sky was grey but the evening star shone through the of the Van Gogh Cycle Route that links the clouds, and now and then other stars were visible too.” Brabant heritage locations. (Vincent to Theo, Etten 8 April 1877) Luminous pearls in the asphalt recharge during the day and give out light in the evening. This combines with fragments from the famous painting to produce a subtle play on light and poetry.
