The Belmont Stakes is also known as “The Test of the Champion” or “The Third Jewel of the Triple Crown” because it's the final leg of the Triple Crown. Started on June 19, 1867, the 2021 Belmont Stakes will be the 153rd edition of the event. Let’s dive more into the 2021 Belmont Stakes. Belmont Stakes 2021 The final leg of the Triple Crown 2021 is just a month away. With the Preakness Stakes 2021 happening next week, horse racing fans will be eager for the Belmont Stakes once it's over. The Kentucky Derby will be back on May 1st, with the fans more than excited for the two remaining legs of the Triple Crown 2021. The ticket sales for the Belmont Stakes 2021 have already started since May 6th. Like every other event, COVID-19 restrictions will affect the Belmont Stakes. Proper social distancing will be observed and only a limited number of fans, with appropriate proof of complete vaccination or a negative COVID-19 report, will be allowed into the venue. The Preakness Stakes will limit attendance to 10,000, as we saw only 51,838 attendees in the Kentucky Derby. Also, the Belmont Stakes will only accommodate around 11,000 spectators for the event. -
