OUR VIEWS Consensus Opinion Stop cheating Tech’s current honor code relies on the integrity and hon- esty of students to not only refrain from cheating themselves but to turn in other students who violate the code. The use of computer programs is a neccesary supplement to the code in order to reduce cheating. The University of Virginia is a good example of how an honor code cannot stand alone. They have the longest stu- dent-run honor code, yet a program designed by a Physics professor found 122 plagiarized papers.
