In late 2017, Lisa Norrie wrote herself into the history books by becoming the first female coach in the Australian Baseball League and in February, she was there in the dugout as the assistant coach to the Bandits as they took out the championship and Claxton Shield for the 2017/18 season.

While we cannot emulate winning the Claxton the North Coburg Rebels Baseball Club is looking for a female coach to spearhead and implement a program to increase female engagement and participation at our club. We have a strong female presence in our committee and full support will be offered at every turn, including subsidising of coaching accreditation or development.

In addition to the Women’s program, there is scope for the incumbent to take an active leadership role as coach of our B Reserve team or as the position of assistant coach to our B grade team. There is also the option to coach one of the lower grades if they prefer.

We are looking at this process as a conversation, the opportunity to engage with a coach who may have fresh ideas and a new way of doing things. While keen to have someone in time for the start of the 2018 winter season, we understand that these things take time to implement and so will be keeping expressions of interest open until such time the position is filled.

Don’t think you are ready to take the leap this season? Get in touch anyway, let’s get the dialogue started.

Expressions of interest to be emailed to [email protected]
