According to a release, Abhay K (/topic/abhay-k). imparted a "very engaging" lecture on the highly acclaimed work of Kalidasa which dates back to 5th Century. "The Meghaduta and RitusamharaKavya reiterate on the composite ecology and environment flora and fauna which is full of flowers, plants, animals, rivers, mountains, forests and clouds in its bounty." The Ambassador shared his own experiences of how the immediate nature and culture around him has profoundly inspired him to compose haiku-like short poems, which was beautifully recited by him during the session, the release said. He also recited the Earth anthem composed by him in the year 2008 which was released on the occasion of World Environment Day in 2013 at the India (/topic/india)n Council of Cultural Relations in New Delhi. Since then it has been translated into over 50 languages spoken across the globe and used by a large number of schools worldwide to celebrate World Environment Day and Earth Day. "He has successfully set a benchmark for the world to follow and ponder which in itself is great tribute to Mother Earth," the release said. Further, he also suggested that Ministry of Culture in General and IGNCA (/topic/ignca), in particular, can think of creating an institution of an India (/topic/india)n Poet Laureate, on the lines of US Poet Laureate where the poet laureate is a consultant at the Library of Congress (/topic/library-of-congress) in Washington DC. "In order to let diverse linguistic poetic tradition bloom and sustain he further suggested to have the repository of poetry books published across the country, in all languages, at a central poetry library, and translate and publish the best of India (/topic/india)n poetry every year," said the release. Abhay K (/topic/abhay-k). has been proactively involved in exploring his literary passion which resulted into many globally recognized and universally accepted famed memoirs, books, poems written, authored and edited by him. His poems have been published in over sixty literary journals across the world. He received the SAARC literary award and was invited to record his poems at Library of Congress (/topic/library-of-congress) in the Washington DC, one of his book titled "The alphabets of Latin America" A carnival of Poem by Bloomsbury is also scheduled to be out in the month of June 2020.     PARTAW NADERI (Afghanistan) Partaw Naderi was born in 1952. He is known as a social-political activist and poet. Like many other Afghan artists and intellectuals, he was arrested by the Communist Regime in Kabul, then fled to Pakistan, where he worked for the Dari program of the BBC World Service until 2002. He has worked as a civic education manager for the Afghan Civil Society Forum in Kabul, and is also a leading member of the Afghan Pen Association, Kabul. In addition to poetry, he has published a large number of articles on literary, political and social issues. His published collections include: 'An Elegy for Vine', 'Leaden Moments of Execution', 'A Lock on the Gate of Ashes', 'The Big Picture, The Small Mirror', ' The Other Side of the Purple Waves', 'The Bloody Mouth of Freedom'. His favorite poems are: 'The Other Side of Purple Waves', 'The Idol-Breaker's Calendar', 'Auction', and 'In the Frozen Streets of Eclipse'. AYESHA ZEE KHAN (Pakistan) Ayesha began her literary journey in Urdu. Many of her stories were published in the Taleem- o- Tarbiyat when she was in her teens.     UNIT IV INDIA–BURMA RELATIONS Bilateral relations between Myanmar (officially the Republic of the Union of Myanmar or the Union of Burma) and the Republic of India encompass the political, economic and socio- cultural relations that exist between the two neighboring Asian countries. Political relations have improved considerably since 1993, overcoming tensions related to drug trafficking, the suppression of democracy and the rule of the military junta in Myanmar.[1] Political leaders from both countries meet regularly on a bilateral basis and within the ASEAN Plus Six community. Economic relations are considerable with India representing Myanmar's 4th largest export market and the country's 5th largest import partner. The 1,600 km (990 mi) India–Myanmar border separates the Indian states of Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh in Northeast India from Kachin State, Sagaing Region and Chin State in Myanmar/Burma. In addition to the long land border, [2] India and Myanmar also share a maritime border along India's Andaman Islands. Burmese ambassadors at Calcutta in 1882 India - Myanmar/Burmese relations date to antiquity and cultural exchanges included Buddhism and the Burmese script, which was based on the Indian Grantha script. In particular, Theravada Buddhism has tremendously influenced Burmese society and culture for millennia, with around 90% of Burma's population continuing to follow the religion. Myanmar (formerly Burma) was made a province of British India by British rulers and again separated in 1937. Its member states include Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, the Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. SAARC was founded in Dhaka in 1985. Its secretariat is based in Kathmandu. The organization promotes development of economical and regional integration. It launched the South Asian Free Trade Area in 2006. SAARC maintains permanent diplomatic relations at the United Nation as an observer and has developed links with multilateral entities, including the European Union Observers States with observer status include Australia, China, the European Union, Iran, Japan, Mauritius Myanmar, South Korea and the United States. Foundation of SAARC Writers and Literature (FOSWAL), the Apex Body of SAARC, organized a three day SAARC FESTIVAL OF LITERATURE in collaboration with Indian Council for Cultural Relations and Arpana Fine Arts on March 16, 17,18 & 19, 2012, in Lucknow. It is said that the heart of the writers beats for humanity. A writer's pen becomes dysfunctional unless it is dipped in the ink of social concerns and immediate problems facing humanity. It is with this conviction that the theme of the SAARC LITERARY FESTIVAL, 2012 was 'ENVIRONMENT' : 'OUR EARTH : OUR ONLY HOME'. That writers, poets and intellectuals of all age groups and genres converged to the SAARC Festival of Literature in Lucknow, is proof that they feel that Climate Change and Ecological Imbalance are concerns that have to be addressed urgently. As far as the question of environment is concerned we have to believe “Yesterday was too early; tomorrow would be too late; we have to act today!” Gathering of writers in general and of South Asia in particular plays a major role in the continuation of peace, mutual understanding, reciprocal respect of our cultural diversity, and the survival of our shared civilization and history.
