MITCH SEBASTIAN Director/Choreographer Sebastian was nominated for an Olivier Award and WhatsOnStage Award for writing and directing the West End hit show, RatPack Live from Las Vegas. He went on to direct the film for American television and twelve years later productions continue to play worldwide. Noted for conceiving and staging concert tours in stadiums around the world; he has also directed large-scale arena productions of Chicago throughout the Middle East and Asia. With over 30 years of experience in the industry, his career has taken him from performer to director to producer having worked with Cameron Mackintosh, Gillian Lynne, Peter Hall Theatre Company, Matthew Bourne and the maestro, Kurt Masur at the London Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition to his extensive experience as a performer in the West End appearing in Cats, Cabaret, Starlight Express, Les Miserables, and Follies, he also performed in pop videos and toured with Tina Turner, Elton John, Meatloaf, Pet Shop Boys, Boy George and Duran Duran. He directed and choreographed the Olivier Awards Ceremony and won a BAFTA Award as part of the creative team behind the children’s animation series, Yoko, Jakamoto Toto. Sebastian has collaborated with Paula Abdul in the USA to create a new entertainment, Cheer! for Broadway producers Richard Frankel Productions and with Hiroaki Omote in Japan to generate SAVIOUR IV multimedia series. In the UK, he produced, devised and directed The Opera Show before launching a World Tour in 2010. In 2007 he became Artistic director of Kilworth House Theatre, England’s leading Open-Air Theatre. Directing fifteen landmark musicals, he established the venue’s reputation for sold out seasons year on year. Sebastian resigned at the end of the 2015 to focus on his work internationally. In 2013 he wrote the book for a new Christmas musical, Por Simper Navidad which opened in Bogota, Colombia. The following year he premiered a new show produced and commissioned by ITW in New York: Evolution opened in Shenzhen, China in 2014 and combined circus performance, state-of-the-art video technology and dance to create an immersive experience in a purpose-built theatre. Sebastian returned to Bogota, Colombia to direct the national premiere of The Sound of Music in 2015; Breaking all box office records it remains the longest running musical production in Colombia’s history. Once again, commissioned by ITW, New York he has been working as creative director developing two original shows and a new theatre for the Wanda Group in Beijing, China. A new musical of Peter Pan premiered on August 2016 in Bogota written, directed and choreographed by Mr. Sebastian. He is currently working on an English translation.
