She holds a Master of Arts in English Literature with an emphasis on Post- Colonial Literature from the University of Oklahoma, USA. Her undergraduate degree is a BA in Business and International Studies from Abilene Christian University, Texas. She worked at Harken Energy Corporation in Texas prior to pursuing her graduate studies. She was also an Adjunct Lecturer of Arabic at the University of Oklahoma. A member of Rotary International.
