Non-Exclusive Licence to Publish a Work

I confirm I am the Author of the Work. I agree that the Work will be published by the Society in the Journal on the following terms.
1. I hereby warrant that I own and shall continue to own all rights in and to the Work including copyright, and I shall retain all publishing rights to the Work which are not granted herein. 2. The Work shall be defined and recognized as the Version of Scholarly Record, that is, the final, definitive, and citable version of the Work, comprising: (a) the accepted manuscript in its final form, including the abstract, text, bibliography, and all accompanying tables, illustrations, data; and (b) any supplemental material hosted by the Society. 3. In consideration of the Society publishing the Work in the Journal if it so decides, I grant to the Society a non-exclusive, non-transferable, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide licence to: a. reproduce and publish the Work as the Version of Scholarly Record in the Journal published in all media and by all means (whether now existing or developed at any time in the future), including the right to edit and adapt the Work in order to make such editorial changes as the Society reasonably considers necessary to make the Work suitable for publication or to avoid infringing third party rights or breaching any laws; b. reproduce the Work for the purposes of abstracting, indexing and aggregating it, including the right to sub-license these functions to third-party abstracting and indexing agencies and database content aggregators; and c. reproduce all or part of the Work for the purposes of marketing and promoting the Work and the Journal. 4. The Work will be published in the Journal with the following copyright statement:

5. I confirm I have secured, at my own expense, the necessary written permission from the appropriate copyright owner(s) for the reproduction in the Work of any proprietary text, illustration, photograph, table, or other material, including data, audio, video, film stills, and screenshots in which I do not own copyright, and that I will provide these written permissions to the Society promptly if they so request.

Apart from any such third party copyright material included in the Work, I warrant that the Work is my own original work, does not infringe the intellectual property rights or any other rights of any other person or entity, and cannot be construed as plagiarizing any other published work, including my own previously published work. 7. I warrant that the Work contains no statement that is abusive, defamatory, libellous, obscene, fraudulent, nor in any way infringes the rights of others, nor is in any other way unlawful or in violation of applicable laws. 8. I confirm the Work is not currently under submission to, nor is under consideration by, nor has been accepted by any other journal for publication, nor has been previously published by any other journal or publication, nor has been assigned or licensed by me to any third party. 9. If deemed acceptable by the editors of the Journal, I confirm that the Society may prepare and publish the Work in the Journal, and if they deem appropriate, the Society may post the accepted manuscript in advance of the formal publication of the Version of Record. 10. I confirm that the Society reserves the right not to proceed with publication for whatever reason. 11. I confirm I will keep the Society indemnified in full against any claims, loss, damages, injury, costs and expenses (including legal and other professional fees and expenses) awarded against or incurred or paid by the Society as a result of any breach of the warranties I have given in this letter or arising out of any claim alleging that the Work constitutes a breach of any of the warranties in this letter. 12. I consent to allowing the Society to use my Work for marketing and promotional purposes. 13. Whilst granting this non-exclusive licence does not prevent me from re-publishing the Work, nor updating or revising the Work, I confirm I will not use the PDF version of the Work prepared by the Society; and in any re-publication I will ensure that the following acknowledgement is included alongside the Work: “This work was first published in Rethinking Marxism
14. This agreement (and any dispute, proceeding, claim or controversy in relation to it) is subject to English law and the parties hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England and Wales. Yours faithfully, Signature:
