July 15 – 19, 2014 University of British Columbia Vancouver, BC BC Hockey 2014 National Coach Certification Program High Performance 1 Seminar
The BC Hockey 2014 NCCP High Performance 1 Seminar will be held at the University of British Columbia main campus in Vancouver, BC from July 15 – 19, 2014. This year we are excited to announce our partnership the Coaches Site and their annual Coaches Conference. The Coaches Site, founded in 2010, is a well-respected coach resource group with a reputation of hosting one of the best coaching seminars in Canada. Their goal of building a global coaching community where ideas are exchanged and the latest tools and coach aids are introduced/discussed meshes well with the goals of the High Performance 1 seminar.
The delegates will be guided by some of the best leaders in Canada. Past guest speakers have included University, Junior, Minor Professional, European and National Hockey League coaches. A few of these are:

The seminar will see delegates arriving on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 and covering off the core and specialized modules of the High Performance 1 seminar, including:
• Physical Preparation, • Planning to Perform, • Ethics, • Advance Skills Analysis. On Friday, July 18, 2014, we will join the Coaches Site Conference where the discussion topics will move into the Art and Technical aspects of coaching, including:
• Power Play, • Penalty Kill, • Mental Prep, • Player Selection, • Game/Bench Management
Hockey Canada Requirement
Hockey Canada has changed NCCP High Performance 1 requirements and made certification mandatory for Head Coaches associated with teams which participate in interprovincial and/or national competition. In British Columbia, all Head Coaches coaching Bantam Tier 1, Midget AAA and Junior “A” must be High Performance 1 certified.

The High Performance 1 Seminar has three (3) components which must all be completed for a delegate to be considered: • Seminar preparation, group work and tasks • Post seminar written evaluation • Field evaluation
