Victoria’s Premier Senior Living Residence From $2,895 Monthly Call 250-478-4431 to Book a Tour Today 917 Avrill Road, Langford | www.cherishvictoria.ca Greetings from Mayor Lisa Helps On behalf of the City of Victoria, it is my great pleasure to extend greetings to all those reading Seniors 101 with an interest in Victoria. Victoria has a wealth of riches, including stunning heritage architecture, ocean views and mountain vistas. It is this rare juxtaposition of heritage buildings, scenic backdrops and vibrant neighbourhoods that makes Victoria one of the most unique places in Canada. Those who visit our city enjoy the natural beauty, temperate climate and both charm and excitement that Victoria offers its citizens every day. In 2019 the City of Victoria established a Seniors’ Task Force to develop a Seniors’ Action Plan, enlisting the wisdom of community members, specialists, seniors-serving agencies and other stakeholders around the following question: “How can the City of Victoria promote healthy seniors and positive aging?” As a result of this work, Council adopted the City of Victoria Seniors' Action Plan 2020 with the aim of making Victoria healthier and friendlier for seniors. Victoria is committed to fostering a spirit of diversity and inclusiveness for all residents regardless of ability, race, gender, family composition or faith. It is important to the City of Victoria that our community is welcoming and inclusive of all, and that we support all who live and visit here. For those planning to visit Victoria, I hope you will take some time to explore our walkable city and the sights and tastes of Victoria. These include the picturesque Inner Harbour, Fisherman’s Wharf, waterfront paths, and some of the best food, beer and coffee experiences in the country.
