会社案内 1 Side by Side; Overlapping , Representative Director and Make Them Now www.success-corp.co.jp 会社案内 Greetings the Make the games you want, make them stand out, and make them now. from President Representative Director Takato Yoshinari In June of this year(2013) we were able to greet the 35th anniversary of our establishment. The histories of both video games and our company have evolved side by side; overlapping , so to speak. Therefore, may it not be said that we are a unique company within the game industry? In the period of these 35 years, the video game industry has completely changed our lifestyle. From the light-user, who enjoys a game while commuting, and during break time at his or her job, to a heavy-user who has no time to sleep because of playing with a video game, a large segment of society that enjoys the games has been formed throughout the nation. Nowadays, whenever we speak about our lives, we can hardly avoid speaking about video games. To have been witness to the entire formation process of this new game culture and to have been able to contribute to it, we consider ourselves very fortunate. Until now, we have sent out into the world more than 1200 titles of games, and from now on, also, we will make, and fervently, continue to make, as many interesting games as we can, ones which can be easily absorbed by anyone. This company having been allotted the destiny to make games, and with the readiness and willingness to follow it, we are, with pleasure, moving in the direction of further game-making. 1 Business summary Smartphone, Tablet PC, PC game enterprise Not only have we, as a company, a long history and experience of the development of the mobile games, but we have continued to stack up a great amount of development experience of native-applications and server-client HTML-5 games as well. PC browser game enterprise ‘HITSUJI MURA’, which was launched in 2009, ‘METAL SAGA, NEW FRONTIER’ in 2010, ‘RING☆ DREAM’ and ‘NAMEKO DAI-HAN-SYOKU’ in 2012, are our flag ship browser games. We are also helping other game development companies to develop and operate their own online browser games. Pachinko Pachi-slot enterprise The number of pachinko machines developed by us and placed in pachinko parlors throughout the country reaches to about 5% of the total number of machines in operation in Japan. Furthermore, our staff, who love Pachinko and Pachi-slot and have a lot of experience of development, are planning new effects to bring pleasure and excitement to our customers. Developing for the customer Our accumulated library and original tools from more than 1200 projects is one of our strategic advantages. Furthermore, our abundantly experienced staff will take on the entire process from planning and specification design through to development. Computer graphics enterprise The staff of our Japan and China studios will help with your graphics production for all platforms. Console game development and publishing We developed ‘Shanghai’--The Great Wall(in 1994) for multi-platforms, which was the first example of multi-platform development in the console game history. We also realized a ¥1,500 per game price for the first time through the Simple 1500 series (in 1998) followed by the Superlite 1500 (in 1999). Now we have developed approximately 500 console games, including NAMEKO DAI-HAN-SYOKU. Arcade game development enterprise Arcade game development was the starting point of game development for this company which led to the launch of SHANGHAI(1987)(still in operation) TONTON(1987) a shop-front, video-machine* (the first of its kind in the world). COTTON(1991) a similar machine but with ‘side-scroll’ shooting, and, PSYVARIAR(2000) likewise, a shooting game but one which used the ‘BUZZ’ system,* (also, the first of its kind in the world). *Shop-front video was a new kind of arcade game machine for children, which was, and still is, available for play in shopping malls or at fronts of shops. *The ‘BUZZ’ system is a shooting game system in which a player shoots at an enemy. Even if the bullet only grazes, the player gets a point. On-line game enterprise MMORPG [GODIUS], which was launched in 2001, has continued to be popular for more than twelve years, and the service which has supported a large number of users, is continuing, even now, in 2013. Our staff, who have been engaged in online games development for a period longer than any other game staff in the country, have had, until now, the expertise to support the development and management of GODIUS, and, what’s more, will continue to do so for other on-line games also, in the future. 2 Games Developed For PC browser game Nintendo 3DS Smart phone apps Light novel Xbox360 Wii Nintendo DS PSP PlayStation2 © SUCCESS 2010 ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. / © SUCCESS ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. / © 2005 SUCCESS / Crea-Tech / © 2006 SUCCESS / Ξ^h^^Ξ/>/dΞ^z^KDͬΞϮϬϬϯ^h^^ͬΞϮϬϬϰ^h^^ͬΞϮϬϬϲ^h^^ŽƌƉŽƌĂƟŽŶͬ͘/ůůƵƐƚƌĂƚĞĚďLJzŽƐŚŝŽ^ƵŐŝƵƌĂͬ Ξ^h^^ͬZEdZd/EDEdͬΞϮϬϬϱͲϮϬϬϲ^hE^K&dͬ^h^^^ŚĂŶŐŚĂŝ Ξ^hE^K&dĂŶĚƚŚĞǁŽƌĚ͚^ŚĂŶŐŚĂŝ͛ŝƐĂƚƌĂĚĞŵĂƌŬŽĨ^hE^K&dŽŶůLJŝŶ:ĂƉĂŶͬ͘ΞϮϬϬϲ><:<ͬ^h^^ͬ ΞϮϬϬϰh/͕/E͘>/EƚŽ^h^^ͬΞϮϬϬϳ^h^^ͬĞĞtŽƌŬƐͬ © 2006 SUCCESS / Crea-Tech / Ξ//ŶƐƟƚƵƚĞŽ͕͘>ƚĚͬ͘^h^^ͬΞラレコ / © タツノコプロ ぐんまちゃん 25-060022 島観連許諾第732号 ©CSP ©2010熊本県 くまモン#9483 3 Corporate History 1978 June 7 Company is founded with ¥3,000,000 in capital as Success Achievement Tokyo, Ltd July Taito released "Space Invaders" 1979 May 9 Nec released "PC8001" 1980 January Company begins operation of game machines 1981 February 10 Name changed to Success, Ltd 1982 January 6 Company moves to Kamiosaki, in Shinagawa-ku and begins developing game software March 26 Success become a publicly traded corporation 1983 July 15 Nintendo released "Family Computer" 1985 January 10 Company moves to the Maruyama Building in Ebisu, Shibuya-ku, specializing in the development of game software 1987 October 30 NEC-HE released "PC Engine" 1988 August 11 Capital increased to ¥12,000,000 October 29 Sega released "MEGA DRIVE" 1989 April 21 Nintendo released "GAMEBOY" 1990 November 8 Opened the first Office of Research and Development November 21 Nintendo released "Super Famicom” 1991 March 8 Opened the second Office of Research and Development 1993 May 25 Company moves to the Kinokuniya Bldg., in front of JR Ebisu Station 1994 March 20 Matsushita Electric Industrial released "3DO REAL" April 1 Integrated the annexes September 1 Annex opened in Maruyama Bldg. Two different methods of delivery are compared on each platform: traditional retail on optical discs and digital downloads in the U.S. Downloading content has been growing and is used to distribute movies, music, books and video games. This technology may change the environmental footprint of entertainment media. Previous studies on books, music, movies and television shows found that digital methods of distribution reduced emissions. However, prior research on video games, looking only at previous generation consoles, found the opposite conclusion.

  • History of Video Games-Wikipedia
History of video games From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia The Atari VCS was a popular home video game console in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Pictured is the four-switch model from 1980–1982. An Atari CX40 joystick controller, with a single button The history of video games goes as far back as the early 1950s, when academic computer scientists began designing simple games and simulations as part of their research or just for fun. At M.I.T. in the 1960s, professors and students played games such as 3D tic-tac-toe and Moon Landing. These games were played on computer such as the IBM 1560, and moves were made by means of punch cards. Video gaming did not reach mainstream popularity until the 1970s and 1980s, when video arcade games and gaming consoles using joysticks, buttons, and other controllers, along with graphics on computer screens and home computer games were introduced to the general public. Since the 1980s, video gaming has become a popular form of entertainment and a part of modern popular culture in most parts of the world. One of the early games was Spacewar!, which was developed by computer scientists. Early arcade video games developed from 1972 to 1978. During the 1970s, the first generation of home consoles emerged, including the popular game Pong and various "clones". The 1970s was also the era of mainframe computer games. The golden age of arcade video games was from 1978 to 1982. Video arcades with large, graphics- decorated coin-operated machines were common at malls and popular, affordable home consoles such as the Atari 2600 and Intellivision enabled people to play games on their home TVs.
