Farrington Università degli Studi della Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”, Institute of Criminology, Cambridge University, Caserta, Italy Cambridge, UK Abstract In recent years, bullying and cyberbullying against teachers by students have been recognized as problems affecting educators teaching in different grades. Few studies to date have addressed explanatory risk factors related to the perpetrators (students) rather than the victims (teachers) in a longitudinal design, in order to establish the possible causes of this antisocial behavior to better develop prevention and intervention programs to reduce teacher victimization. The main aim of the present study is to analyze the effect on teacher victimization of individual and interpersonal risk factors, including empathy, moral disengagement, peer and parent support, awareness of online risks, and school climate. A total of 251 Italian students (aged 11-19) participated in a longitudinal study. The results showed that, for girls, high moral disengagement, low awareness of online risks and poor school climate were risk factors for later teacher victimization. For boys, high moral disengagement and low awareness of online risks were also risk factors, in addiction to low parental support and high peer support. The findings are discussed along with possible applications for prevention and intervention. ANNA CONSTANZA BALDRY (May 16, 1970 – March 9, 2019) It is with great sadness that we write this obituary to report on the death of an esteemed colleague and a wonderful friend, Professor Anna Costanza Baldry. We hope that this obituary will serve to celebrate the memory of an excellent scholar by reflecting on her many achievements. In this obituary, it is only possible for us to mention a few of her many accomplishments. Anna graduated in Psychology from the University of Rome La Sapienza in 1994, where she later received her doctorate in social and developmental psychology. In 2000 she also received a PhD in criminology at the Institute of Criminology, University of Cambridge, UK. She obtained the prestigious Marie Curie Post-doctoral Fellowship and spent two years at the Free University of Amsterdam. From 2002 to 2004 she was appointed as level III researcher at ISTAT. Since 2005 she was associated with the Second University of Naples (later renamed: Università degli Studi della Campania ‘Luigi Vanvitelli). Since 2005, she taught undergraduate and graduate courses on various topics including interview and questionnaire techniques, criminological and legal psychology, community psychology, juvenile delinquency and youth violence. Since 2008 she taught the course on victimology at the Catholic University of Milan.

The objectives of the study were: to ascertain their perceptions regarding their concern and their commitment to cyberbullying, their agreement with the measures to address it in educational contexts, as well as the assessment of their capabilities to act and the training they have received and they would like to receive; to determine if the perceptions differ according to gender, age and degree pursued and if there are relationships between the perceptions; and, to define pre-service teachers’ profiles based on perceptions. With a survey research design, 408 students from different undergraduate and graduate education-related degree programs at Spanish public universities participated. Findings highlight the coexistence of three different teacher in training profiles. All profiles exhibit a high level of concern and recognize cyberbullying as a problem. They strongly agree with all the proposed prevention and management measures. Two of the three profiles perceive themselves as highly confident and willing to respond. On the contrary, participants in the third profile do not feel confident enough to act and consider their training insufficient, coinciding with the second profile.

Despite its diffusion, to date, very few studies analyzed possible victims’ age differences in regard to fatal risk factors for femicide. To this aim, we carried out archive research on Italian femicide cases in the last decade, by comparing prior types of violence suffered and motives for femicide, which are considered crucial fatal risk factors for femicide, across adolescent/young (15–24 years), adults (25–64 years) and older women (65–93 years). From 2010 to 2019 we found 1207 female victims. Characteristics of victims, perpetrators, and their relationship were consistent with those found by international studies and underlined that the majority of femicides were perpetrated by an intimate partner. The results regarding fatal risk factors comparisons across age groups showed the existence of significant differences regarding both types of violence suffered prior to femicide and motives for femicide. As you may know and certainly will experience, Amsterdam is a city of water, with more than 100 km of canals. Water is therefore the leading theme in the design products of this conference. It stands for transparency, but also for movement, and thereby represents two major aims of Social Psychology in the coming years. EASP keeps attracting a growing number of researchers who want to present their research to colleagues. We received a total of 154 proposals for symposia, 628 proposals for individual talks and 261 proposals for posters, adding up to a total 1043 submissions. Compared with the 960 submissions in Stockholm this is again an increase and makes the composition of an interesting and inspiring scientific program all the more challenging. The program committee has worked with great dedication to achieve this aim. The final program consists of 12 parallel sessions, including 101 symposia and 61 thematic sessions (each consisting of up to 5 individual presentations) and 696 posters that will be presented in 6 different poster sessions. In addition, we will have the traditional round table sessions during lunch break, the award session and the Tajfel lecture, all held in the Aula.

This article presents results from the evaluation of the Tabby Improved Prevention and Intervention Program (TIPIP) for cyberbullying and cybervictimization. TIPIP is theoretically designed to address cyberbullying and cybervictimization. It is the first program in this field developed combining the Ecological System Theory and the Threat Assessment Approach. Method. The Tabby Improved program was evaluated using an experimental design with 759 Italian students (aged 10–17 years) randomly allocated via their classes to either the Experimental or Control Group. Results. Repeated measures ANOVAs showed a significant decrease both in cyberbullying and cybervictimization among students who received the intervention with a follow-up period of six months. The program was more effective for boys than for girls. Conclusions. Because cyberbullying is a cruel problem negatively affecting those involved, validated interventions that prove their efficacy in reducing the problem using experimental designs should be widely tested and promoted, paying particular attention to implementing a program fully to increase and guarantee its effectiveness. Using a cross-sectional and quantitative methodology, the main objective of this study was to analyze the differences among students involved in the perpetration and victimization of cyberbullying (non-involved, occasional, and severe), in their parental communication, and feelings of affiliation with classmates. The sample consisted of 849 adolescents (51.7% boys and 48.3% girls) from 12 to 18 years old (M = 14.5; SD = 1.62). Three comparison groups of aggressors and victims of cyberbullying were formed, depending on the intensity of the intimidation: non-involved, occasional, and severe. The results of the analysis of variance indicated that adolescents involved in cyberbullying as perpetrators or victims have less open and more avoidant communication with their parents than adolescents who are not involved in cyberbullying.
