Removal Order Appeal, 15th October 1839, Clarinda GREEN ( & )

Upon the appeal of the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Borough of Helston in the said County from and against an order bearing date the nineteenth day of August last past under the hands and seals of Richard Moyle and John James Boase Esquires two of Her Majesty’s Justices of the Peace of and for the Borough of Penzance in the said County for the removal of Clarinda Green aged about two years the infant and illegitimate child of Jane Polkinghorne Green deceased from the said Borough of Penzance to the said Borough of Helston It appeared to this Court that the said Jane Polkinghorne Green deceased the mother of the said Clarinda Green was legally settled in the said Borough of Helston and that the said Pauper was born in the Parish of East Stonehouse in the County of in or about the month of July One thousand eight hundred and thirty seven and that the said Mother died at Penzance aforesaid in the month of November last leaving the said Pauper chargeable to the said Town of Penzance from whence she was removed by the said Order in which it is adjudged that the place of Settlement of the said Pauper is in the said Borough of Helston but no objection to that part of the Order is set forth amongst the grounds and causes of appeal It is therefore ordered by this Court and this Court doth adjudge that the said Order be and the same is hereby on the merits confirmed subject to the opinion of Her Majesty’s Court of Queen’s Bench And that the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Borough of Helston do keep and provide for the said Clarinda Green as an Inhabitant legally settled in the said Borough of Helston
