3.a. Private Coaching - General Principles: i. Private coaching at Hawthorn Rowing Club is considered to be a fee for service arrangement between club member(s) and the contracted coach. ii. As such, club access and bookings of any club equipment are to be made by club members only. iii. Private coaches who are not HRC members, do not have rights to utilize HRC coaching equipment. The only exception to this is if they are part of an endorsed club program e.g. (HRC Learn to Row, HRC Go Rowing and Youth Development and Rowing Development Squad programs). iv. Coaches wishing to access HRC coaching equipment, e.g. speed boats, must first seek Captain’s permission, providing evidence of appropriate licenses, and coaches insurance coverage. Coaches who are not registered with the rowing association are not covered by insurance and will therefore not be allowed to access HRC equipment for coaching purposes. 3.0 Coaching (cont.).

To book fleet simply go to club website http://boatbookings.hawthornrowingclub.com and follow the instructions. b. This season Red fleet will be booked by the captain or via squad conveners. The aim is to provide some oversight on racing fleet to ensure it remains in peak condition for crews representing us in the upcoming racing season. c. The general principles for usage of Red fleet this season are:

i. Crews in competition squads will be granted access to race fleet appropriate to their needs ii. With rowing development committee approvals, training squads will be assigned appropriate boats to cover squad training needs. RDC with deal with any clashes in training times or requirements with various squads wanting boats. iii. Boat booking system will show block out times for red boats allocated to squad training times. iv. A nominated club member or coach will be the squad convener to facilitate squad boat needs periodically with Captain / Vice Captain who will be aware of broader club usage. v. Red fleet usage must be approved by Captain or Vice Captain. The simple way to facilitate this is for a squad convener to make a regular training time request to be added to the booking system. vi. All fleet users continue to be responsible to look after equipment they use, leaving boats in fine working order and reporting any damage immediately to the Captain or Vice Captain. 7.0 Fleet Usage Regulations a. FOR INSURANCE REASONS, HRC CLUB EQUIPMENT MUST NOT BE USED BY INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE NOT REGISTERED WITH THE ROWING ASSOCIATION. b. All HRC boats and oars are designated as green or red. (Note, the previous amber category has been revised to green giving members broader equipment access). All paid up club members have rights to access and book green fleet (about 70 % of club inventory). c. Boats designated as red are part of the competitive race fleet. This equipment is allocated to crews competing or training to compete for HRC. Access to this part of fleet is via Captain, Vice Captain and members of the rowing development committee who allocate boats to crews and squads wishing to compete and represent HRC in the Rowing Victoria regatta season. d. Our aim is to ensure those who represent the club in competition have access to well maintained equipment that maximises their competitive prospects. 7.1 Fleet Designation
