We had paid a significant deposit and were caught in the position of, do we pay the remainder or lose the deposit. This dilemma was thankfully removed by John and The Latin America Travel Company. They suggested we did not pay the remainder and subsequently repaid all the deposit. Legally they did not have to do this. Other companies have not acted in this way. They have taken away all the worry. John and the company have handled this with outstanding ethics and real integrity." Russ H, June 2020 “ Great Value, Efficient, and Effective. Trekking Desolacion trail. Volcán Osorno, Petrohué falls,Emerald Lake. Trekking : Vicente Perez Rosales N.Park. Desolation Pass. Overview: Profile: Adventurous Difficulty level: medium. Season: November to late March Other trips you might find interesting: Solitario Hike Parque Nacional V, Perez Rosales. Cochamo Walls and river Hike, Tagua Tagua Hike. We depart early in mornig from Puerto Varas to Petrohué on the shores of Todos Los Santos Lake. On our way to the lake, we’ll pass through areas that are the mouths of the rivers which flow from the sides of Osorno Volcano. On warm days, it is possible to see what appear to be dust clouds arising from the flanks of the volcano. In reality, these are ash clouds raised by the flowing waters making their way down the flanks of the volcano. We will cross vast areas of black ash mixed with the lashes from the Calbuco eruption in 2015 and have been brought down by the glacial melt. You will appreciate the might of the volcano as you see the results of the ash flows experienced during its eruptions. One can only imagine what it must have been like during its periods of activity. Leaving Petrohué, we head upward toward the base of Volcano Osorno (8,730 feet). Our trek takes us through Osorno’s volcanic canyons where amazing rock formations are etched out of the canyon walls by the melting snows and glaciers of Osorno. As we head upwards to Desolation Pass, at an altitude of 5,610 feet between the Osorno and Cerro La Picada volcanoes, we will also see a wide variety of lava formations created by the lava flows that built Osorno.

DESTINATION IB HONEYMOONS CHILE Set among lush green vegetation, the luxury lodge has Queulat National Park views of the fjord and of the Andes and also has thermal waters to relax in, with natural volcanic hot springs trickling down from the hills. With no TVs, Wi-Fi or phone coverage, this is the perfect place to come to completely disconnect from urban life, ease away any post-wedding stresses and soak up the pristine nature of the area. Indoors, the lodge has plenty of cosy areas to relax in and a separate spa area with treatments. All of the rooms have small terraces overlooking the fjord and mountains and the water in the bathroom comes from the thermal springs. Step outdoors and the only background sound is of running water, with hot volcanic water running down to the three outdoor thermal pools. Two of the pools are swimming-pool size with views over the fjord and mountains, and one is a natural rock pool, each a short walk from the lodge along a path lined with lush vegetation and nalca plants (Chilean rhubarb). A memorable adventure Although it’s a remote lodge on the edge of a fjord, Puyuhuapi is in Queulat National Park and is the ideal base for honeymoon adventures – take one of the beautiful hikes along the park’s trails, go sea kayaking from the lodge’s jetty or arrange a boat trip along the fjord. One of the most memorable sights from your trip will be of the hanging glacier, known as the Ventisquero Colgante, where you can take a guided hike.
