Teachers Students Dr. Esther Gladiz retired from service B.Ed. on 31st March 2014 as Principal and Dr.K .Y. Benedict was appointed as the new English- 19 Principal. We have 10 permanent Malayalam- 19 members in the teaching faculty. Ms. Shiny Mathematics- 22 Jacob was appointed as Natural Science Natural Science- 31 faculty member on July 2014. Physical Science 29 We also have one professor and three Social Science- 27 lecturers in the M Ed. Faculty where the M.Ed. students’ strength is 25. Administrative staff The strength of M.Ed Batch got We have 15 permanent members in enhanced to 25 by University of the administrative staff. and a computer from 2013-14 onwards. In the 2013-14 assistant. Mr. Biju Alex joined in the M.Ed Batch, there were 24 students. In the Administrative Staff on 1st April 2014. 2014-15 M.Ed Batch, there are 25 students.

GOOD PRACTICES OF THE INSTITUTION NAAC reaccredited the college with A Grade in 2014 owing to the best practices in the college and overall effectiveness in various aspects of teacher formation and efficient administration. The following are some of the best practices available in the college: 1. Socially committed management- The management is very committed in producing socially committed teachers and in developing a value oriented society. Management arranges all facilities for quality improvement for the staff. 2. Efficient Leadership- The Principals (Dr Esther Gladiz (till March 2014) and Dr Benedict K.Y.(since April 2014) are outstanding administrators. Both acted as good team leaders ensuring the well being of the staff and students and cognitive restructuring of the student community. 3. Committed staff members- The teaching and the administrative staff are committed to offering all the support to the teacher trainees and the post graduate students. 4. 24x7 internet availability in all the classrooms, library and computer lab 5. All the classrooms are SMART CLASSROOMS with interactive white boards and LCD projectors 6. Financial assistance to the needy students of the college  The faculty members are skilled in delivering their instructions, orientation and demonstration in micro teaching and real teaching lesson with the help of Smart class  Every teacher educator has his/her unique classroom interaction and teaching methodology.  The use of activity centered, brain storming project based and student’s participation ensuring strategies in their classrooms  The faculty members have given training developed various teaching aids, models, slides, transparencies, modules, charts, flash cards to teach the student teachers more effectively. The Research and Publication Wing The much awaited moment in the history of the college came true this academic year that the informal Research Wing activities began in the college in 2006 got an official recognition from the University of Kerala that the college got approved as a Research Centre in Education and allied inter-disciplinary areas. Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis Catholicos, the Patron of the college aims to raise the college to a Research Centre of International Significance and we are moving in that direction. Dr. P.M Jaleel, Dr. K.Y.Benedict, Dr. T.P. Jose, Dr. Giby Gevarghese and Dr. Maya S are rendering their service as research guides of the Centre. Dr. Reetha Revi and Dr. Smitha S of S.N Training College Nedunganda, Varkala also joined as Research Guides of the Centre. In collaboration with the M.Ed faculty, the Research Wing Organized three National Colloquiums this academic Year. The Publication wing which is entering to the 10th year of its existence continues the publication of the Research Journal, Teacher Learner and Society and the College News Letter Mar Theophilus Campus Pulse. It is also not worthy that the ISSN numbered Journal of the college got a special recognition as an approved Research Journal by the University Of Kerala. 39. Staff welfare fund The self initiated staff welfare fund by the members of the teaching and non teaching faculty of the college successfully entered into the sixth year of its existence. Dr. T. P. Jose, Mr. V. T Mathewkutty and Mrs. Lidiya Paul were elected as the new President , Secretary and Treasurer respectively in October 2014. 40. CACEE Continuing Education Centre The Continuing Education Centre of CACEE- University Of Kerala was operational in this academic year with two courses namely Diploma in Adolescent Counseling and Diploma in Computer Applications. Mr. Laji Varghese was the coordinator of the programme. Also the college extended its service to host the P.G Diploma in Higher Education Course of CACEE. 41. Developmental Programme

The college received 66 Lakhs of Rupees during the XI Plan and the account was settled in the interface meeting held at Bangalore on 28th October 2014. The XII Plan, so far the College has received nearly 20 Lakhs of Rupees under General Development Fund, Additional Assistance and IQAC Fund. By utilizing these resources, the college has installed Smart Classroom Facility to all Classes. Steps for Modernizing the Teaching- Learning Environment by providing High Speed Internet Connectivity to all Classes, Reading Room, Library, Faculty Cabins and Computer Lab through a special scheme of MHRD, Audio-Visual Support Mechanism at the Auditorium and Drinking water facility through Reverse-Osmosis Technology etc are in progress. Saying goodbye to Black-Board, the college is all set to use Green-Boards with Dust-Free Chalk.

NAAC RE-ACCREDITATION RESULTS

The result of the second cycle Re-Accreditation Peer Team Visit held in October 2013 was announced in March 2014, which gave a proud moment for the college to cherish that the college was ranked again in the A Grade at 3.25 aggregate grade point average level by National Assessment and Accreditation Council; which is the Highest in the Kerala State among the Re-Accredited Colleges of Teacher Education in the State.

CONCLUSION As the college has become a Research Center, we are looking forward to greater commitment and excellence in teacher Education. We are planning to conduct greater number of National Workshops for teacher competency development. We are also making arrangements to reach greater autonomy. In a few years time all the faculty members will be Ph.D. holders. We are deeply indebted to UGC, NAAC, NCTE, University of Kerala, College Management for the continuous support and assistance.
