Shamans dating back to at least 50,000 B.C. had rituals of placing themselves in communi- cation with nonphysical entities. The Mystery Schools of ancient Egypt, Greece, Persia, Rome, and India also dealt with contacting spirits. This approach appeared to reach a zenith in the 19th century with the Spiritualism Movement. Today a reincarnation of interest has been mani- fested through the resurgence of attention brought to angels, the Higher Self and channeling in general. Every major religion acknowledges the reality of discarnate entities or spirits. These may be called saints, angels, the Holy Spirit, and so on. One of the purposes of this book is to demystify this process. Hollywood films, television, and novels have incorrectly presented the view that some magical (if not evil) process is necessary to contact one of these spirits. The media’s conception of spirit contact has led to the false assump- tion that the individual who establishes this contact must be in great dan- ger. In reality, this communication is natural, relatively simple, and is a wonderful growth experience. Spirit communication removes the fear of death and bereavement, and results in a form of spiritual empowerment. We now can have evidence of our immortality, in addition to receiving enlightenment from beings far more spiritually evolved than we are. Other advantages of this communication are: e Developing your intuition and other psychic abilities. e Increasing your ability to love ourselves and others. 9 10 Spirit Guide Contact Through Hypnosis e Becoming more aware of the workings of the universe. e Increasing your creativity and problem solving abilities. e Establishing better contact with your own Masters and Guides and Higher Self to facilitate your own spiritual evolution. e Spiritual protection from negative entities and/or other forces in the universe. e Accessing the wisdom of the ancients. e Establishing and maintaining your own physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. This book presents many easy and perfectly safe methods to contact spirit guides. Absolutely anyone can master these simple exercises. The only obstacles in your path to apply these techniques successfully rests inside you. We refer to these obstacles as defense mechanisms or the ego. They try to prevent you from changing in any way. Frequently, these defense mechanisms are easily overpowered by the use of simple meditative and self-hypnosis techniques. It is only the igno- rance and prejudice that society has fostered upon the West that has misprogrammed you to feel that you cannot do this. We are not the highest and only form of intelligent life. Being human is not the apex of evolution. There are nonphysical beings and dimen- sions that are far more evolved than any of us have ever imagined our species to be. The ignorance that a soul illustrates during its life reflects and di- rects its actions after it crosses into spirit (dies). By establishing spirit contact now, you can better yourself and your destiny for this eventual transition. I present several protection exercises in this book, so there is no need to fear being harmed while practicing the methods included. You will be helped tremendously by the spirits you contact. They may assist you in establishing abundance, provide insight on a variety of issues, pro- tect you, and function as a nonphysical companion. Spirit guides can only help us if we request their assistance. The greater our awareness and more open we are to this communication, the stronger their help and guidance will be. It is always to our advantage to raise our souls’ energies to facilitate this assistance and to grow spiritually. Introduction 11 Contacting spirit guides is a learned skill. You do not have to be born with a special “gift.” With the methods presented in this book, you will learn how to expand your own consciousness and contact a high-level guide and your own Higher Self. All you require is a strong desire, perse- verance, and patience to obtain positive results. Using these techniques will increase the frequency of events in your life that just “seem to happen.” You will receive insights and simply “know” about things and what to do to better your life and the lives of those you contact. This will result in your life taking on more meaning, and you developing a greater sense of karmic purpose. Use the information and experiences that you obtain as a result of this book to be both enlightened and empowered. Make this a starting point in opening yourself up for guidance and spiritual growth. Be pre- pared for the adventure of your life as you bring higher levels of wisdom into your very own soul. Go forth into the light and share your new wis- dom with others. How to Use This Book This book contains dozens of exercises specifically designed to train you to experience self-hypnosis. It doesn’t matter what your background is. You can accept or reject any of the principles and concepts presented here. Empowerment is vital and I stress that in my Los Angeles hypno- therapy practice and in my personal life as well. If you become rigid and stuck in your views, you become trapped by your beliefs. You are no longer empowered because you are no longer free. Always use your judgment and free will in trying these exercises. Use the ones with which you feel comfortable and ignore the others. These exercises are all perfectly safe and have been tested for more than 25 years. You may create your own exercises from these models. Read each exercise thoroughly to become familiar with it. Use the relaxation techniques that are given or use your own. You may practice alone or with others. I strongly suggest that you make tapes of these exercises. Read the scripts slowly and leave enough space on your tape to experience each part of the procedure. Practice once or twice a day, in 15- to 20-minute sessions. In gen- eral, it is considered most effective to practice in the morning, as it may 12 Spirit Guide Contact Through Hypnosis provide a relaxing start for the entire day. The more specific and realistic your schedule, the better the chances that you will succeed. You should choose a part of your day when you are at your best. If you wait to practice until long after you get home from a hard day at work, you might only practice going to sleep, self-hypnosis is most effec- tive if practiced when you are reasonably alert. Begin by picking a good time to practice. If you wake up alert and rested first thing in the morning, practice then, before getting out of bed. Take into account whether or not you will be disturbed by spouse, lover, kids, pets, and so forth. Choose a time when you are not likely to be interrupted. Other popular times are before lunch or dinner. Four components of successful self-hypnosis are: 1.

BEING CONSCIOUS PART IV The Brow Chakra By Suzan Caroll PhD BEING CONSCIOUS PART IV The Brow Chakra www.multidimensions.com By Suzan Caroll PhD Published by Multidimensional Publishing Visit www.multidimenisons.com To view other, booklets, downloads, and products By Suzan Caroll PhD 2 THE THIRD DOOR The third door is marked: THOUGHTS We knock. As the door opens, a message is displayed: Our thoughts come into focus as our self-talk becomes conscious. This ability allows us to take responsibility for our thoughts, as we realize that we can choose which thoughts we allow to dwell in our minds. We learn that when we choose to think positive, our self- confidence grows and our thinking shifts from problem-oriented to solution- oriented. Old negative core beliefs break down, and we respond with new behavior rather than acting in old, habitual ways. When we are no longer victims, we can respond rather than react because we think before we speak or act. CHOOSING OUR THOUGHTS The Thoughts Door in the Conscious Section represents the Sixth, Brow Chakra. The Brow Chakra is also known as the Third Eye. Our Third Eye is the mind screen for our inner vision. As the Kundalini rises into the Sixth Chakra, our Third Eye will begin to open. Then the “Doorway to our Inner Life” will open as well. However, in order to step across the threshold of that door, we must raise our consciousness beyond the fear for survival and choose to direct our thinking towards expansion of our sense of self. In other words, we must learn to raise our consciousness by choosing our thoughts.

  • The Seven Sacred Bodies - Terms Excerpted from the Glossary of Empowerment
The Corpus Christi - science of the rainbow body The Seven Sacred Bodies - terms excerpted from the Glossary of Empowerment By Richard Rudd The Corpus Christi — One of the journeys making up the Gene Keys Synthesis, the Corpus Christi is the complete science of the ‘Rainbow Body’ — the true underlying nature of all human beings. The Corpus Christi is a synthesis of transmissions, teachings and techniques that underpins the 64 Gene Keys. Representing the higher ‘Mystery School’ teachings of the Gene Keys, it includes the teaching of the Seven Seals, the Seven Sacred Bodies and the Nine Initiations. Deep immersion in the teachings of the Corpus Christi assists you in grounding and embodying the higher frequencies of light into your everyday life. These are the teachings and techniques that allow you to draw the transmission of the Gene Keys layer by layer into the subtle bodies that make up your aura. Literally meaning ‘The Body of Christ’, the Corpus Christi prepares you to work with higher evolutionary frequencies by progressively purifying the many dimensions of your inner being, beginning with your physical body. The 1st Sacred Body - The Physical/Etheric Body Etheric Body — Sometimes known as the ‘etheric double’, the etheric body is the counterpart of your physical body, extending out beyond it into the aura. As the closest of the subtle bodies to the physical, the etheric body is quite well understood by many cultures, in particular in its relationship to our physical health. Systems such as acupuncture or energy medicine work directly on the etheric body, which consists of a vast network of subtle pathways, meridians or ‘nadis’, which create the fundamental grid of the aura.

In this article I explore the performance of Spiritist rituals among Black North American practitioners of Afro-Cuban religions, and examine its vital role in the development of their religious subjectivity. Drawing on several years of ethnographic research in a Chicago-based Lucumí community, I argue that through Spiritist ceremonies, African-American participants engaged in memory work and other transformative modes of collective historiographical praxis. I contend that by inserting gospel songs, church hymns, and spirituals into the musical reper- toire of misas espirituales, my interlocutors introduced a new group of beings into an existing category of ethnically differentiated ‘spirit guides’. Whether embodied in ritual contexts or cul- tivated privately through household altars, these spirits not only personify the ancestral dead; I demonstrate that they also mediate between African-American historical experience and the contemporary practice of Yorùbá- and Kongo-inspired religions. Keywords African Diaspora, Black North American religion, historiography, Santería, Espiritismo, spirit possession Pirates of the Afro-Caribbean World Among practitioners of Afro-Cuban religions such as Palo Monte and Lucumí, popularly called Santería, Spiritist ceremonies are frequently celebrated. !is has been the case wherever these traditions’ distinct yet interrelated classes of spirits—including Kongo mpungus and Yorùbá orishas—have gained a foot- hold, particularly in global urban centers.

E-mail: [email protected] Running head: THE PROBLEM OF SETH'S ORIGIN 2 Abstract Jane Roberts channeled the purported discarnate entity called "Seth" from 1963 through 1984. The purposes of this paper are to (a) discuss the question of whether the content of a mediumistic communication can aid in determining the source of that communication, (b) address a gap in the literature by presenting an outer history of the trance-possession mediumship of Jane Roberts, and (c) examine eight explanations for Seth's origin in light of the published evidence of the case, including fraud, cryptomnesia, hypnotic self-suggestion, incipient schizophrenia and dissociative identity disorder, high creativity, psi functioning, basic source Aspect, and energy personality essence. Either Seth is or is not a production of Jane Roberts' psyche. In either case, we are led to the possibility that human personality may have a greater reality and greater awareness than is generally supposed. Keywords: case study, mediums, mediumship, possession, trance, survival of consciousness, discarnate communication, content analysis. Running head: THE PROBLEM OF SETH'S ORIGIN 3 The Problem of Seth's Origin: A Case Study of the Trance-Possession Mediumship of Jane Roberts On December 8, 1963 an entity that called himself Seth emerged under the auspices of a ouija board to take possession of the body of a woman named Jane Roberts of Elmira, New York with the expressed purpose of dictating information about the nature of reality beyond the five senses in a trance-possession mediumship that lasted for 21 years.

Om: One God Universal A Garland of Holy Offerings * * * * * * * * Viveka Leads To Ānanda VIVEKNANDA KENDRA PATRIKĀ Vol. 22 No. 2: AUGUST 1993 Represented By Murari and Sarla Nagar Truth is One God is Truth . God is One Om Shanti Mandiram Columbia MO 2001 The treasure was lost. We have regained it. This publication is not fully satisfactory. There is a tremendous scope for its improvement. Then why to publish it? The alternative was to let it get recycled. There is a popular saying in American academic circles: Publish or Perish. The only justification we have is to preserve the valuable contents for posterity. Yet it is one hundred times better than its original. We have devoted a great deal of our time, money, and energy to improve it. The entire work was recomposed on computer. Figures [pictures] were scanned and inserted. Diacritical marks were provided as far as possible. References to citations were given in certain cases. But when a vessel is already too dirty it is very difficult to clean it even in a dozen attempts. The original was an assemblage of scattered articles written by specialists in their own field. Some were extracted from publications already published. It was issued as a special number of a journal. It needed a competent editor. Even that too was not adequate unless the editor possessed sufficient knowledge of and full competence in all the subject areas covered. One way to make it correct and complete was to prepare a kind of draft and circulate it among all the writers, or among those who could critically examine a particular paper in their respective field.

INFORMATION TO USERS This material was produced from a microfilm copy of the original document. While the most advanced technological means to photograph and reproduce this document have been used, the quality is heavily dependent upon the quality of the original submitted. The following explanation of techniques is provided to help you understand markings or patterns which may appear on this reproduction. 1.The sign or "target" for pages apparently lacking from die document photographed is "Missing Page(s)". If it was possible to obtain the missing page(s) or section, they are spliced into the film along with adjacent pages. This may have necessitated cutting thru an image and duplicating adjacent pages to insure you complete continuity. 2. When an image on the film is obliterated with a large round black mark, it is an indication that the photographer suspected that the copy may have moved during exposure and thus cause a blurred image. You will find a good image of the page in the adjacent frame. 3. When a map, drawing or chart, etc., was part of the material being photographed the photographer followed a definite method in "sectioning" the material. It is customary to begin photoing at the upper left hand corner of a large sheet and to continue photoing from left to right in equal sections with a small overlap. If necessary, sectioning is continued again — beginning below the first row and continuing on until complete, 4. The majority of users indicate that the textual content is of greatest value, however, a somewhat higher quality reproduction could be made from "photographs" if essential to the understanding of the dissertation.

A Spirit uses the medium’s hand to write replies to any number of questions posed; also practiced by amateurs as a way of strengthening their spiritual powers. The Spirits literally write words or pictures on the medium’s flesh. How it is done: Invisible ink, likely lemon juice, is used. When held up to a candle, the ink grows increasingly visible. ectoplasm. A pale, filmy materialization of the soul, produced by the medium when in a trance state. Likely invented by Leah Fox (circa 1860). The last manifestation of ectoplasm seems to have taken place in 1939. Cambridge University has a sample; it looks and feels like cheesecloth or chiffon. Female mediums sometimes stuffed ectoplasm in their vaginas, necessitating strip- searches. See also soul and Spirit’s progress. lampadomancy. Flame reading.
