Jänner 2011 Organisation KLUB DER KATZENFREUNDE ÖSTERREICHS Mitglied der Fédération Internationale Féline-FIFe Ein neuer Freund im Haus – Tips für Katzenkäufer Wenn Sie, lieber Besucher dieser Ausstellung, sich mit dem Gedanken tragen eine Katze für sich zu erstehen, wollen wir Ihnen einige Tips und Anregungen geben, die Ihnen Ihr zukünftiges Zusammenleben mit diesen wunderschönen Schmusetigern einfacher machen können. Es freut uns natürlich alle, dass Ihre Wahl auf eine Rassekatze gefallen ist, mit der Sie viele schöne Stunden verbringen werden. Doch bedenken Sie eines, der Kauf einer Katze ist nicht zu vergleichen mit dem Kauf eines Fernsehers; es handelt sich hier um ein Lebewesen mit Gefühlen und man muss von einem Durchschnittsalter von 10-15 Jahren ausgehen. Das bedeutet ganz einfach, wenn Sie einem nicht mehr gefällt, kann man Sie nicht einfach umtauschen wie einen vielleicht zu kleinen Anzug. Weiters sind die Erhaltungskosten einer Katze zu bedenken, die monatlich je nach Ernährung zwischen € 40 - 80 betragen. Zusätzlich kommen dann noch die Tierarztkosten für eine jährliche Auffrischungsimpfung im Bereich des Katzenschnupfens und Katzenseuche, wie auch der Katzenleukose (Katzen-AIDS). Wenn Ihre Katze Freilauf hat, ist eine Tollwutimpfung unumgänglich. Die Punkte für Best in Show errechnen sich durch die pro Kategorie und Ausstellung im Katalog befindlichen Katzen, gebrochen durch die Gesamtzahl der im Katalog befindlichen Katzen ohne die Würfe. Dieser Wert wird dann mit 500 multipliziert. Es erfolgt eine mathematische Rundung der Punkte (bis 0,499 ab- und ab 0,5 aufgerundet). Die Punkte für BOS sind halbiert. Bei Kategorienzusammenfassung werden die jeweiligen Punkte addiert. Die Katzen von KKÖ-Mitgliedern können in den folgenden Kategorien AUSTRIAN WINNER werden: (jeweils getrennt in ordentliche und fördernde Mitglieder) Austrian Winner Alle erhaltenen Bewertungen einer Katze auf KKÖ- Shows des Kalenderjahres. The rules contained in these pages will govern the rating of the Pet Health Insurance Plan policies. 2. The Pet Health Insurance Plan contains multiple benefit and coverage options. Unique benefit packages can be designed by constructing combinations of these benefit and coverage options. B. Premium Computation 1. Premiums at policy inception will be computed using the rules, rates and rating plan in effect at that time. 2. Premiums are calculated for each benefit package. 3. To calculate the monthly rate, divide the annual rate by 12, and then round to two decimal places. 4. To meet the demand of a marketable price point, a downward adjustment in price, not to exceed 5%, may be applied to the monthly premium. C. Additional Premium Charges 1. Additional premiums are computed using rates in effect at policy inception. 2. All coverage changes or additions involving additional premiums will be pro-rated based upon the effective date of the change. 3. If an endorsement or change to a policy results in an additional premium of $5 or less, no charge will be made. D. Return Premiums 1. There are several concerns on the possible negative effects on PPG including anaesthesia, surgery and complications. The aim of this study was to evaluate the safety of PPG. Microsoft excel was used for statistical analysis. The information about 6646 purebred kittens who had gone through PPG before 27 weeks of age was obtained from the online retrospective survey. Database included cats from the different breeds and –age groups when the surgery was performed, collected in 2019.

Suomen Kissaliitto koostuu 13 rekisteröidystä rotukissayhdistyksestä, joissa on yli 7500 jäsentä. Jäsenmäärät ovat olleet kasvussa koko 2000-luvun. Vuosittain Kissaliitto rekisteröi lähes 5000 rotukissaa ja vajaa 100 uutta kasvattajanimeä. Kaikki uudet kasvattajat käyvät liiton kasvattajakurssin ennen kasvatustyön aloittamista.     Preventing Fading Kitten Syndrome in Hairless Peterbald Cats Mark Kantrowitz 1 Abstract Newborn hairless Peterbald kittens have a very high mortality rate, rarely surviving to one month of age. Since the early days of the breed, breeders have not attempted to breed born-hairless sires and dams together because all of the kittens will be hairless, with few surviving to adulthood. Even in litters from heterozygous parents, it is unusual for more than one hairless kitten to survive. Several potential causes of fading kitten syndrome in Peterbald cats are identified. A new 7-step protocol has been developed to address all of the potential causes of fading kitten syndrome. This protocol has been used successfully to breed a hairless sire, CelestialBlue Eureka, with a hairless dam, CelestialBlue Mimsy. All four hairless kittens in this litter have survived to four months of age, and there is every expectation that they will reach adulthood and live normal lifespans. This is the first time a litter of born-hairless Peterbald kittens has achieved a 0% mortality rate since the origin of the Peterbald breed. The result is an intelligent and affectionate hairless cat with a long, elegant, tubular body, large, low-set ears and a triangular head with a blunt tip.
