Changes affect old routes 528, 531, 557, 559, 560. There are no changes to services 900, 901, E7 or E8. From Sunday 25 January 2015 there are significant changes to our local bus services. This means that your bus is likely to run at a different time, and it may have a different route number. Following the consultation held by Metro and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA), the cuts to our local services are much less than was originally proposed. Services will continue on all our routes, seven days a week, but with a number of changes. Evening services on some routes will be much reduced, and several of these evening services will be subject to ‘use it or lose it’ – see page 6. 528 to Rochdale. This service is renumbered X58. Services on Mondays to Saturdays remain hourly during the day, with a limited evening service subject to ‘use it or lose it’ – see page 6. On Sundays there will be a service every two hours during the day, but no evening service. 560. This service will remain broadly the same, generally hourly (two-hourly Sundays) but running at different times in some cases. The evening service will now run along the current 560 route. The old 531, 557 and 559 routes are replaced by a new 561/562 circular service These new services will run a long loop from Halifax along the 531 route to Ripponden and back to Halifax along the 557 or 559 route, and vice-versa.

  • Clean Growth Action Plan
Clean Growth Action Plan Supporting clean growth across our organisation September 2019 Background The West Yorkshire Combined Authority brings together local councils and businesses to ensure everyone in our region benefits from a strong, successful economy and a modern, accessible transport network. By harnessing our combined efforts, our vision is to make the Leeds City Region known globally as a place where everyone can build great businesses, careers and lives, supported by world- class transport, housing and digital connections. To achieve this vision, we have four corporate priorities: 1. Boosting productivity 2. Enabling inclusive growth 3. Delivering 21st Century transport 4. Supporting clean growth Why do we need a Clean Growth Action Plan? Our Action Plan sets out how we will achieve our fourth priority – supporting clean growth – by growing our regional economy whilst also cutting greenhouse gas emissions, including carbon dioxide. This plan also sets out how we will respond to the climate emergency which was formally declared by the Combined Authority and its partner councils in June 2019. Additionally, clean growth is one of the grand challenges within the Government’s Industrial Strategy plans and must be addressed through all Local Industrial Strategies. Our Strategic Economic Plan and Energy Strategy and Delivery Plan committed the City Region to achieving a net zero carbon economy by 2038 at the latest, with significant progress by 2030. The Action Plan aims to: Enable the Combined Authority to lead by example and reduce its environmental impacts, tackle the climate emergency and create clean growth. Ensure that all staff and members are fully aware of what clean growth means and what we plan to deliver.

Walking Club Bradford Senior Wayfarers www.seniorwayfarers.org.uk Thank you for your enquiry about the Senior Wayfarers the midweek walking club in the Bradford West Yorkshire area for people who enjoy walking, socialising and, above all, having fun. Our club is aimed primarily at the 50+ age-group but we welcome people of any background to join our friendly and welcoming walking groups, social activities or weekend away. How to join We are a very informal club so you could just turn up to one of our walks; the syllabus tells you when and where they start and it costs £1 per person using it. Please pay for this copy by giving £1 to the Group Leader on your first walk. If a walk goes through noon then bring a packed lunch. Our welcome Although we are happy for you just to turn up we prefer to make sure we welcome you properly so, before coming along, we suggest you ring the leader of the group you wish to join and have a chat (their details are on the syllabus). He or she may be able to tell you about the group, the walk and the level of difficulty. About the club The Senior Wayfarers Club was formed in 1979 as a result of a two-line advert in the Telegraph and Argus by Tom and Ruby Wilcock. Eight people turned up for the first walk. We now number 300. You become a member when you buy a £1 syllabus (from the group leader). The syllabus is issued every 4 months.
