  • Examensuppsats På Kandidatnivå Nedskalad Truminspelning Med Ett Stort Sound
Keywords Kevin Parker, Tame Impala, producent, inspelning, trummor, musikanalys. Innehållsförteckning

  • The Dark Side User Manual
USER MANUAL 1.0.2 EASTWEST | THE DARK SIDE IMPORTANT COMPATIBILITY NOTE! Our Revolutionary New Opus Software Engine Our brand new Opus software engine has been years in development, and replaces the Play engine. All EastWest Libraries (with the exception of the original Hollywood Orchestra, the original Hollywood Solo Instruments, and the MIDI Guitar Series) are supported in Opus, allowing them to take advantage of a faster, more powerful, more flexible, and better looking software engine. Opus comes with some incredible new features such as individual instrument down- loads, customized key-switches, new effects for the mixer page, scalable retina user interface upgrades for legacy products, a powerful new script language, and many more features that allow you to completely customize the sound of each instrument. It’s one of the most exciting developments in the history of our company and will be the launching pad for many exciting new products in the future. Using Opus and Play Together Opus and Play are two separate software products, anything you have saved in your projects will still load up inside the saved Play version of the plugins. You can update your current/existing projects to Opus if you so choose, or leave them saved within Play. After purchasing or upgrading to Opus you do not need to use Play, but it may be more convenient to make small adjustments to an older composition in your DAW loading the instruments saved in Play instead of replacing them with Opus. For any new composi- tion, just use Opus. A Note About User Manuals All EastWest Libraries have their own user manuals (like this one) that refer to instru- ments and controls that are specific to their respective libraries, as well as referencing the Play User Manual for controls that are common to all EastWest Libraries.

  • Race for the Prize: the Proto-Selfie As Endurance Performance
Race for the Prize: The Proto-Selfie as Endurance Performance Art Marc A. Tasman Abstract: In the paper “Race for the Prize: The Proto-Selfie as Endurance Performance Art,” the author characterizes a small group of artists (including himself) working on time-lapse, self-portrait photographic projects as competitive— in a race with distinct formal, aesthetic, and technical categories. Set on the cusp of the millennial change from 20th to 21st century, these self-portrait works suggested practices and modes of new digital materiality that helped to birth the phenomenon called “the Selfie.” In the few decades before this Web 2.0 debut, the self-portrait was already evolving with electronic media. Neo-avant-garde performance artists and post-modern photographers were making identity-fluid works, self-portraits that were highly performative, prefiguring the coming practices of self-representation in digital networks. An important link, a reference to the passage of time, reinforce a familiar theme in art history—memento-mori, which is a reminder to the viewer that our time alive is fleeting. In this way, along with other threads, including first-hand accounts by the quartet of time-lapse self-portrait artists, we can derive the context and continuity that connects antecedents to descendant selfie practices, ubiquitous in contemporary culture. 1. Introduction I am writing here ten years after the conclusion of the Ten Year Polaroid Project (Figure1), also known as Ten Years and One Day, twenty years after the start of my photo series. This is a project in which I photographed myself using a Polaroid camera and instant film for 3654 consecutive days, from 24 July 1999 through 24 July 2009.

  • Album of the Week: the Flaming Lips' Oczy Mlody
Album Of The Week: The Flaming Lips’ Oczy Mlody There are bands that do unique and weird things, and then there’s The Flaming Lips. Things have changed a lot since the band started out as “the punks on acid” in the early ‘80s and then gradually became an enigmatic and psychedelic act of wonder. The core members of Wayne Coyne, Michael Ivins and Steven Drozd always manage to delve into different territory and push the artistic envelope with each release. Their latest, Oczy Mlody, takes the senses to a totally different place. Soothing tones and hypnotic vibes are abundant from start to finish. It’s The Flaming Lips’ first album without longtime drummer Kliph Spurlock who left after the making of the band’s previous album, The Terror, in 2014. There are orchestral dimensions and extravagant structures that make up parts of each track. Coyne’s vocals seem like they’re traveling over the rhythms and beats as if on a voyage. It seems like the band has gone further toward the electronic realm while retaining their psychedelic roots. The album goes along with the space aesthetics that have always been a part of The Flaming Lips’ sound. A dream pop presence is noticeable while the wide-ranging arrangements keep the album from becoming redundant and boring. For a band as limitless as The Flaming Lips, there’s not a lot that can be predicted when a new release is put out. Oczy Mlody is a great example of how Coyne and company can progress their art and present new things more than 30 years later.
