President to President

The job of a president, whether it be president of a company, a university, or a fraternity or sorority chapter, is an experience and a responsiblity only truly understood by those who seek out and accept the responsibilty of the office. It was this idea which led to the first ever President to President reception this past year, bringing together the presidents of Duke’s Greek organizations for a casual evening with Duke’s President, Richard Brodhead. During the fall semester each chapter and council president received an invitation to join President Brodhead in his home for dinner and intimate conversation, president to president. Over 40 student presidents attended the event and had a chance to talk with President Brodhead about the unique challanges particular to the office of president. As eager as the students were to learn what it means to be President of Duke University, President Brodhead was equally interested to learn first-hand about the experiences of student leaders whose organizations represent over 30% of Duke’s undergraduate population.

President to President was a unique opportunity for all attendees and an event from their time at Duke that our students will not soon forget.

We are grateful to President Brodhead for enabling this event to become a reality.
