ABSTRACT This study analyses varied types of cross -media production with the aim of furthering a critical understanding of the factors behind organizational strategies for creating journalistic content, recognizing both opportunities a nd constraints for journalistic practice across different platforms in Thailand . In methodological terms, the study draws on in -depth interviews with 30 editors and journalists from three different media outlets, specifically: Thairath, Nation Multimedia G roup and PPTV HD36 . Further, primarily for contextual purposes, the study also provides a textual analysis of news content as well as observations of newsroom dynamics to explore how cross -media journalism aims to achieve its intended quality standards. Fi ndings suggest that the quality of cross -media journalism corresponds to the synergy of cross -media work practices and multiplatform content distribution strategies to create “a long -tailed journalism,” one that extends the scope and depth of breaking news stories . Pertinent dimensions of this process include giving news adequate context, creating multiple stories from different angles , and eventually achieving well -rounded, in -depth coverage. In the course of adapting to changes in newsroom practices brou ght about by digital convergence, it will be shown journalists and editors have faced significant tensions and challenges . In coping with the pressures of time management and associated risk s concerning the degrading quality of news outputs, a cross -media production strategy was found to be beneficial under certain circumstances. It is based on co -operation, using a new -media team as a ‘bridging ’ group between production teams serving ‘new ’ and ‘old ’ media platforms . It can foster the expansion of news prod uction while enhancing the quality needed for well -rounded news coverage. On this basis, t his study contributes to existing knowledge of cross -media production by providing a content -focused strategy of four types of functioning strategies – repurposing, c ross -promotional, exclusive/extended and engaging reportage – which together expand stories across social -media platforms, websites and different traditional -media outlets . Each, in varying ways, helps to provid e and extend diverse aspects of reportage tha t, taken together, have the potential to complement one another to provide higher quality news coverage . The thesis’s conclusions pinpoint the important argument that it is through the further integration of cross -media work practice and cross -media conte nt strategies to improve synergies between ‘old’ and ‘new’ media that journalists and editors will secure better opportunit ies to achieve their goal of quality journalism . Four challenges are discovered to be particularly signi fi cant : (1) overcoming ethic al tensions with due social responsibility; (2) providing reliable, accurate facts with meaningful context; (3) generating significant interest and relevant information in order to reach, engage and inform people; and (4) performing the role of a watchdog in the public interest (making issues known , and using professional power effectively , to raise awareness and stimulate action on social issues ). Of critical importance is the need to shed light on practical framework s to analyse cross -media strateg ies, en suring journalism fulfils its responsibilities to the public interest by providing accurate, reliable knowledge and information . It is in this way , this thesis argues, that dialogue and debate about possible solutions to improv e the quality of cross -media journalism will be advanced . As of today, seven Discovery channels are scheduled to go dark on 30 June, with the newly acquired four-channel Scripps bouquet headed into the abyss at the end of August. Discovery says it has already been for- mally notified by StarHub that its channels are not being renewed. In a response this morning, StarHub didn’t mention any formal notice, saying only that “we are in renewal negotia- tions... and we are doing everything pos- sible to arrive at a deal which would allow Discovery and StarHub to continue our partnership while offering our customers the same content at a reasonable price”. StarHub isn’t coming into this public fight with no firepower, saying it is acquiring fresh content to replace Discovery “in the event that negotiations prove unsuc- cessful”. Several new channels are in the works “to ensure our customers will continue to enjoy access to a good range of educa- tion and lifestyle channels,” StarHub says. In this article, we argue that just as the literary journalists of the 1960s attempted to write the nonfiction equivalent of the great American novel, journalists of the 2010s are using digital tools to animate literary journalism techniques. To evaluate whether this emerging genre represents a new era of literary journalism and to what extent it incorporates new techniques of journalistic storytelling, we analyze 50 long-form multimedia journalism packages published online from August 2012 to December 2013. We argue that this new wave of literary journalism is characterized by executing literary techniques through multiple media and represents a gateway to linear storytelling in the hypertextual environment of the Web.     JKN : BUY – 11.90 18 July 2019 JKN GLOBAL MEDIA Company Update คาดกาไร 2Q62โตเล็กน้อย...กลับมาแรงครึ่งปีหลัง JKN BUY เราคงค าแนะน า “ซือ้ ” เนื่องจาก 1) แนวโน้มผลประกอบการใน 2Q62 แม้จะเติบโตในอัตราชะลอ (Initiate) แต่คาดก าไรจะกลับมาเติบโตเด่นใน 2H62 จากฐานทตี่ า่ และรายได้ขายลิบสิทธ์ทเี่ พิม่ ขึ้น 2) เรา THAKOL BANJONGRUCK (Res) ยังคงประมาณการก าไรปี 2562 เติบโต 19% YoY ดีกว่าอุตสาหกรรมโฆษณาที่คาดว่าเม็ดเงิน ่ ่ Tel. +662 009 8067 โฆษณาจะเติบโตในระดับต าเพียง 1 – 2 % 3) แม้ผลกระทบจากการที 7 ช่องทีวีคืนช่องจะ กระทบลูกค้า 2 ราย แต่บริษัทสามารถหาลูกค้าอืน่ มาแทน และเพิ่มรายได้จากการขายลิขสิทธิ์ E-Mail [email protected] ่ ้ ่ CNBC 4) ราคาหุ้นปรับลงจากความกังวลเรืองผลประกอบการมากไป ลงมาซือขายที PER ID 004927 2562 –1SD เพียง 17 เท่าต า่ กว่าค่าเฉลีย่ ย้อนหลังตั้งแต่เข้าตลาดท ี่ 25 เท่า คาด 2Q62 แผ่ว แต่ไม่ได้แย่กว่าที่เราคาดก่อนหน้านี้ เราคาดก าไรสุทธิใน 2Q62 ที่ 72 ล้านบาท (-11%QoQ , +5%YoY) ผลประกอบการชะลอตัวจาก 1Q62 KANIN ANGSUNIT จากรายได้จากการขายลิขสิทธ์ที่ลดลง เทียบ YoY เติบโตในอัตราที่ลดลงจากไตรมาสแรกเนื่องจากมี Assistant Analyst ค่าใช้จ่ายในการผลิตรายการและค่าใช้จ่ายการตลาดที่เพิ่มขึ้น ส่วนหนึงจากต้นทุนในการเตรียมผลิต รายการทางช่อง CNBC ซึ่งพบว่า Net Margin ปรับลดลงจาก 2Q61ที่ 20% เหลือ 17% 2H62 คาดกลับมาเติบโตเด่น YoY จากฐานที่ต่า และรายได้ขายลิขสิทธ์ที่เพิ่มขึ้น เราคาดก าไรสุทธิใน 2H62 ที่ 120 ล้านบาท กลับมาเติบโตเด่น 35%YoY จากฐานที่ต ่าในปีก่อน กอปรกับ Opinion & Key Statistic รายได้จากการขายลิขสิทธ์ที่เพิ่มขึ้นโดยเฉพาะในตลาดต่างประเทศ และมีรายได้จากการจัดคอนเสิร์ตเจิน เจิน-เดอะทอย และภาพยนตร์อินเดียเรื่อง “Khejdi” ที่จะเข้าฉายในวันที่
