JACKSONVILLE JUMBO SHRIMP GAME NOTES Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (4-8) at Chattanooga Lookouts (8-5) Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp – Double-A Affiliate of the Miami Marlins ProuD Member of the Southern League of Professional Baseball Southern League Champions 1996, 2001, 2005, 2009, 2010, 2014 Thursday April 19, 2018 – 7:15 p.m. AT&T FielD – Chattanooga, Tennessee Shrimp: RHP Nick NeiDert (1-0, 5.19) vs. Lookouts: LHP Lewis Thorpe (0-1, 5.40) Game #13 – RoaD Game #9 (1-7) Last Game: The Chattanooga Lookouts hit four home runs in a 12-4, seven-inning win, and broke a 1-1 tie with a pair of sixth-inning runs in a 3-2, seven-inning victory to sweep a doubleheader over the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp at AT&T Field Wednesday night. In Game 1, Chattanooga (8-5) got three straight one-out RBI doubles from shortstop Nick Gordon, left fielder Zander Wiel and designated hitter Chris Paul to build a 3-0 lead against Jacksonville right-hander Max Duval (0-1). In the top of the second inning against Chattanooga left-hander Stephen Gonsalves (2-0), Jumbo Shrimp first baseman Eric Jagielo singled, and right fielder John Norwood hit his first home run of the season to center field to cut the Lookouts’ lead to 3-2. The Lookouts added to their lead in the second inning, as second baseman Sean Miller hit an RBI single, and center fielder LaMonte Wade hit a two-run home run to right field, making it 6-2. Jumbo Shrimp second baseman Isan Diaz hit a solo home run – his first in the Southern League – off Gonsalves in the third inning. -

Martin (4-9, 5.16) vs. Shrimp: RHP Jeff Brigham (3-0, 0.35) Game #80 – Home Game #39 (15-23) Last Game: Jumbo Shrimp right-hander Nick Neidert and Biscuits right-hander Sam McWilliams each pitched eight brilliant innings, but Montgomery first baseman Nate Lowe’s first-inning, two-out RBI double gave his team its fifth straight victory, 1-0, in front of 2,676 on Half-Price Yuengling Monday at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. The Biscuits (7-4 second half, 44-37 overall) took a first-inning lead with an unearned run against Nick Neidert (7-5). Left fielder Thomas Milone hit a leadoff ground ball to first baseman Eric Jagielo, whose error allowed Milone to reach first base. Center fielder Nick Solak grounded into a fielder’s choice, before Lowe hit a two-out RBI double to left field. From the second through seventh innings, Neidert faced the minimum 18 batters, allowing a pair of Solak singles but eliminating the baserunner with a double play each time. In the eighth inning, right fielder Nathan Lukes hit a leadoff single and advanced on a sacrifice and wild pitch before being stranded at third base. -

JACKSONVILLE JUMBO SHRIMP GAME NOTES Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (0-1) at Jackson Generals (1-0) Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp – Double-A Affiliate of the Miami Marlins Proud Member of the Southern League of Professional Baseball Southern League Champions 1996, 2001, 2005, 2009, 2010, 2014 Friday April 6, 2018 – 7:05 p.m. ET / 6:05 p.m. CT The Ballpark at Jackson – Jackson, Tennessee Shrimp: RHP Nick Neidert (0-0, 0.00) vs. Generals: RHP Taylor Widener (0-0, 0.00) Game #2 – Road Game #2 (0-1) Last Game: The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (0-1) fell to the Jackson Generals (1-0) by a 7-3 score in the first game of a five-game series at The Ballpark at Jackson on Thursday night. Jacksonville right-handed starting pitcher Cody Poteet (0-1) took the loss, allowing five runs (all earned) on eight hits with two walks and six strikeouts in his four and a third innings of work in his Double-A debut. Jackson left-handed starting pitcher Alex Young (1-0) earned the victory, pitching five innings where he allowed a run on three hits with a walk and four strikeouts. Marlins No. 2 prospect Monte Harrison got Jacksonville off to a hot start in the top of the first with a leadoff triple. Two batters later, John Norwood brought him home with an RBI single that gave Jacksonville a 1-0 lead. The Generals tied the game at 1-1 with Kevin Medrano’s solo homer in the bottom of the first inning. Jackson added an RBI triple by Galli Cribbs in the bottom of the second to take a 2-1 lead, then Cribbs collected an RBI single in the bottom of the fourth to grow the lead to 3-1.
