Fs1 Unveils Broadcast Team for Debut of New Premier Boxing Champions Series Toe-To-Toe Tuesdays

FS1 UNVEILS BROADCAST TEAM FOR DEBUT OF NEW PREMIER CHAMPIONS SERIES TOE-TO-TOE TUESDAYS

Gus Johnson and two-division champ call fights with reporter Claudia Trejos and host Brian Kenny

Los Angeles - A quartet of seasoned boxing TV talent leads FS1’s new, live primetime Premier Boxing Champions series TOE-TO-TOE TUESDAYS on Tuesday, Sept. 8 (9:00 PM ET), with host Brian Kenny, blow-by-blow announcer Gus Johnson, analyst Paulie Malignaggi and reporter Claudia Trejos. The two-hour inaugural installment of TOE-TO-TOE TUESDAYS features a 10-round junior middleweight headliner between Austin “No Doubt” Trout (29-2, 16 KOs) and Joey “Twinkle Fingers” Hernandez (24-3-1, 14 KOs). The televised opener pits Jorge Lara (27-0-1, 19 KOs) against Jesus Rojas (22-1-1, 15 KOs) in a 10-round featherweight battle.

Hosting FS1’s coverage of TOE-TO-TOE TUESDAYS is Kenny, a veteran boxing announcer who’s currently serving as an MLB Network studio host. Kenny formerly anchored ESPN 2’s Friday Night Fights. "I'm thrilled to be working with Gus and Paulie on FS1,” says Kenny. “Gus makes every sport more exciting and it'll be great being reunited with Paulie on boxing again."

As one of the most electrifying voices in all of sports broadcasting, Johnson, who calls the blow-by-blow action on Tuesday night, is the lead play-by-play announcer for ’ college football and college basketball coverage. In his storied career, he has called numerous sports events from the NFL to the Olympics. He’s also worked SHOWTIME Championship Boxing and Roc Nation Sports’ throne boxing on FS1 earlier this year.

Working alongside Johnson is former two-division world champion Malignaggi. Still an active boxer at age 34, with a record of 33-7, 7 KOs, “The Magic Man” has served as a regular boxing analyst over the last several years on FS1 and CBS, becoming one of boxing’s more popular voices. He won the Boxing Writers Association of America Excellence in Broadcasting Journalism Award in 2013 for his work on Showtime. “I’m very happy to be joining FS1 calling the PBC fights,” says Malignaggi. “I’m thrilled to once again be ringside breaking down the action for our great viewers.”

Reporter Claudia Trejos has worked as a host of ESPN Deportes’ Friday Night Fights, as well as a boxing commentator for the network. She served as a weekend and evening news sports anchor at KTLA-TV 5 in Los Angeles, and also contributed to SHOWTIME’s Championship Boxing coverage, hosting the weigh-ins on Show Stream Live. A native of Colombia, she began her broadcasting career at FOX Sports Americas in 1994 as production coordinator.

TOE-TO-TOE TUESDAYS continues for a total of 21 shows through the end of June, 2016. The fights are simulcast on , with former featherweight world champion and 2000 Mexican Olympic team member Daniel Ponce de Leon and Samuel Jacobo calling the action.
