30/08/2002 Hampir sejuta pekerja awam dapat opsyen SSM Oktober JOHOR BAHRU, Khamis - Kerajaan akan mengedarkan surat tawaran atau opsyen Sistem Saraan Malaysia (SSM) kepada hampir sejuta kakitangan perkhidmatan awam mulai Oktober depan. Menerusi surat itu, kakitangan perkhidmatan awam diberi peluang memilih SSM atau kekal di bawah Sistem Saraan Baru (SSB). Bagaimanapun Ketua Setiausaha Negara, Tan Sri Samsudin Osman, menggesa kakitangan awam memilih SSM kerana ia lebih baik dan menggabungkan beberapa perubahan berbanding SSB. "SSM seperti diumumkan Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad Julai lalu bukanlah satu proses bagi semakan gaji sebaliknya satu penambahbaikan kepada sistem sekarang," katanya selepas majlis sambutan Hari Kualiti dan Anugerah Khidmat Cemerlang Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) di Dewan Sultan Iskandar di sini, hari ini. Hadir sama, Naib Canselor UTM, Datuk Prof Dr Mohd Zulkifli Mohd Ghazali dan Timbalan Naib Canselor (Pembangunan), Prof Dr Azraai Kassim. Pada majlis itu, kira-kira 100 kakitangan pentadbiran dan akademik UTM menerima Anugerah Khidmat Cemerlang dan Anugerah Kepujian Universiti. Pada 30 Julai lalu, Dr Mahathir mengumumkan SSM yang akan menggantikan SSB mulai 1 November depan, memberi lebih banyak faedah terutama bagi meningkatkan kecekapan dan pengetahuan serta peluang pengembangan kerjaya kepada kakitangan awam. Menerusi SSM, penilaian kecekapan kakitangan dibuat melalui peperiksaan atau kursus yang diwajibkan bagi menentukan kemajuan kerjaya dan gaji tahunan, selain laporan prestasi serta pengakuan ketua jabatan. SSM adalah dasar ketiga diperkenalkan kerajaan selepas SSB yang diperkenalkan pada 1992 bagi menggantikan skim perkhidmatan di bawah laporan Gaji Jawatankuasa Kabinet sejak 1976. Mengulas lanjut mengenai pengedaran borang SSM itu, Samsudin berkata kerajaan masih membenarkan mereka yang masih kekal mengikut Sistem Laporan Gaji Jawatankuasa Kabinet membuat pilihan berubah ke SSM walaupun selepas skim baru itu dilaksanakan. -

In Malaysia, the problem issues are related to traffic congestion and many user cars on the roadway in daily lives. One alternative mode of using a rail network is commuter, LRT, Monorail, MRT and ETS. Therefore, the Geographic Information System (GIS) technology is then used to map and produce the railway networks history and developments in urban public transportation (UPT). The goal of this research is to identify the heatmap trends of the Klang Valley railway stations which included Kuala Lumpur as urban public transport sectors. It was based on the OSM image layer from the year 1990 to 2019 and studied the growth of railway networks through a polyline pattern analysis. -

Staff professionalism is an important component in university services. A quality service is considered as one of the important research topics in the context of service delivery in universities. Frontline university service is the first step before the public or customers pursue the matter further. If at this first step they are provided with quality service, indirectly it reflects positively on the university. However, if the quality of the service provided is poor it reflects negatively on the university. In this study, 192 of 909 graduates students who responded to the questionnaire and analyzed by using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) software to achieve the outcome of the study. The findings show that there is a positive relationship between staff professionalism and customer satisfaction. Several recommendations were suggested to UiTM in order to improve its counter services delivery and to achieve customer satisfaction. Quality is the degree to which a service satisfies customers by meeting their needs, wants, and expectations while services are deeds, processes, and performances (Zeithaml & Bitner, 1996). SECTION 2 : STATEMENT OF NEED 2.1 TRAFFIC CONGESTION - THE CHALLENGE OF THE FUTURE Traffic congestion and the efficient mobility of the urban population will be one of our main challenges in the coming decades, both in Malaysia as well as in the rest of the world. Traffic congestion is a drain on our productivity, contributes to air pollution, is energy inefficient and reduces the quality of life. In the Klang Valley, traffic congestion has become a major problem due to the increasing number of vehicles and the urban sprawl. Over the past few decades, the expanding population in the Klang Valley has led to an urban sprawl - the KL metropolitan area has extended from the city centre to over a 20 km radius. It has expanded outwards from the city centre to the adjacent administrative areas of Petaling, Gombak, Ampang Jaya, Subang, Kajang, Hulu Langat and Putrajaya. This urban sprawl has serious impacts including long commuting distances to work, high car dependence and higher per capita infrastructure costs. The urban sprawl also puts a tremendous amount of strain on the city’s transportation infrastructure. The major highways and the ring road around the city are already congested. During peak hours, traffic is often reduced to a crawl and lengthy queues are not uncommon. The major road systems which have been constructed, under construction or committed are unlikely to be able to satisfy Klang Valley’s needs even to 2020.
