1-18: Horses A-Z 19-20: Jockey Statistics 21-22: 60 Flat Horses To Follow 2015 Book Statistics 23: Special Feature 24: Acknowledgements ABDON (3yo) Trainer: Sir Breeding: Cacique - Kinnaird () Owner Al Shaqab Racing Looked very green on his first ever run but his turn of foot was very impressive in the closing stages: he has a very impressive pedigree and with entries in the 100,000 and 200,000 Tattersalls in April connections seem to have a lot of confidence in him to produce this season. AJMAN PRINCESS (3yo) Trainer: Roger Varian Breeding: Teofilo - Reem Three (Mark Of Esteem) Nice looking filly who has been working well on the gallops and is likely to start here career around the mile trips. Heavily entered so clearly highly thought of and expect some big things from her for the powerful connections. AMAZING MARIA (5yo) Trainer: David O’Meara Breeding: - Messias Da Silva (Tale Of The Cat) This five year old always hinted that she was a smart sort and won two races at Goodwood during the summer of 2013 when trained by Ed Dunlop. She appeared to lose her way sometime after that and connections opted to move her to David O’Meara. It clearly worked the oracle when sent off as an unconsidered outsider, she saw off the attentions of and Cladocera to claim the prize. With confidence restored she ran on strongly to take the at Newmarket as well as the at Deauville. There will be more to come from her this season when the ground rides good or faster and she can compete with the very best at trips up to a mile and possibly a little further.

BEAUTIFUL MORNING (3yo) Trainer: Luca Cumani Breeding: - Date With (George Washington) A beautifully bred daughter of Galileo improved significantly from her first start to win a class two maiden at York last August. She was far from disgraced when chasing home in the Dubai Fillies’ Mile and with a behind her she is bound to have matured. She has been entered for numerous engagements already at distances between six and ten furlongs and looks the type that her trainer could do well with.

1 BEDROCK (3yo) Trainer: William Haggas Breeding: Fastnet Rock - Gemstone (Galileo) Won at the third time of asking when last seen at Newbury in October 2015 and with the fifth that day going on to win two in a row afterwards the form is starting to out well. One with a lot of promise from a trainer who does well with his younger crop. BESS OF HARDWICK (4yo) Trainer: Luca Cumani Breeding: Dansili - Request (Rainbow Quest) Relatively unfancied on her debut in a 12f Newmarket maiden in May of last year she shaped with plenty of promise and ran into 3rd place, behind a couple of decent sorts. Given a few months time she was sent to Wolverhampton over the same trip and fairly bolted up in the process. Being by Dansili it is extremely likely she will do better with time and given her handler has such a good record with similar types it would be folly to ignore her. Black type is the most obvious plan for this season but she has a very attractive profile and anything from 12f to 14f looks sure to . (2yo) Trainer: Mark Johnston Breeding: - Cercle D'Armour (Storm Cat) Making her debut on the all weather at Kempton recently, this daughter of Caulfield Guineas winner and first season sire Helmet. Boater was very impressive when blistering from the gates to lead from pillar to post over the minimum trip by seven lengths in a blistering time. She looks a quick filly on what she showed on the day, the penny has definitely dropped early and being a January foal she is more likely to be campaigned early season.

CARAMURU (2yo) Trainer: Richard Hannon Breeding: Casamento - Zaynaba (Traditionally) A very strong standing sire Casamento has produced a likeable colt who will be trained by Richard Hannon. Winning Racing Post Trophy sire Casamento is by European Juvenile Shamardal, and their should be no doubt that his crop of juveniles could all be worth following. A March foal and who would not surprise to see it out early in the season.

2 CASTLE HARBOUR (2yo) Trainer: Breeding: Kyllachy - Gypsy Carnival (Trade Fair) A nice looking colt who is bred to tackle shorter trips, up to a mile. With the sire Kyllachy producing quite a few two year old winners this horse has enough to potential pick up a prize in its opening campaign. CHAIN OF DAISIES (4yo) Trainer: Henry Candy Breeding: Rail Link - Puya (Kris) This filly progressed very well last season when winning three in a row over ten furlongs and showed true heart and guts to hold off Crystal Zvezda at Newmarket on her final start of the campaign. If she has continued to develop over winter then she is definitely a filly going places. CHARTREUSE (3yo) Trainer: Freddie Head Breeding: Lawman - Bufera (King’s Best) Caught the eye when winning a Chantilly maiden by five lengths, followed up with a respectable third in a Group 3 race at Deauville just three weeks later and looks to be an exciting prospect from the other side of The Channel. CHELSEA LAD (3yo) Trainer: Martyn Meade Breeding: Clodovil - Yali (Orpen) Just the one run and one win as a youngster in what looks to have been a decent maiden at Newmarket last October. Hails from the less established but well accomplished yard of Martyn Meade and at 33/1 it sprung a shock when it won but with an entry in The 2,000 Guineas is clearly highly thought of. (2yo) Trainer: Mark Johnston Breeding: Helmet - Dubai Sunrise (Seeking The Gold) Once more Mark Johnston has hit the ground as he does most seasons and Chupalla looked a massive filly going into the gates when winning in March. I would not be surprised if she is campaigned carefully this season being an April Foal. She is out of the un-raced Dubai Sunrise through the dams-sire Seeking The Gold who finished runner up in the Group 1 Breeders Cup Classic on his sole career start. Chupalla is going to be one to follow throughout the season, with a campaign that probably won’t peak until around the Royal Ascot meeting. A horse that would probably go on to make a positive transition at the age of three as well.

3 CLONDAW WARRIOR (9yo) Trainer: Willie Mullins Breeding: Overbury - Thespian (Tiraaz) A useful dual purpose performer who recently won over hurdles at Fairyhouse when partnered by Ruby Walsh. He is likely to have another profitable campaign on the flat having secured decent wins in handicaps at Royal Ascot and Galway last year. He was also a brave runner up to a reformed Pallasator in a Group Two over two and a quarter miles at Donaster last September. An ideal sort to repeat his success over extreme distances on the flat throughout the summer having been sparingly campaigned over jumps last season by his master trainer. CONTROL CENTRE (2yo) Trainer: Richard Hannon Breeding: Dragon Pulse - Margaux Magique (Xaar) Control Centre is sired by juvenile Group 2 Futurity Stakes winner Dragon Pulse who went on to land the Prix de Fontainebleu as a three year old and was second in the Group 1 National Stakes. It already has some interesting declarations which include the Weatherby's Super Sprint and the valuable yearling's Stakes at York later in the year, he could be one of the juveniles that will probably have two runs before heading to Newbury. Depending on what he achieves up to then, he looks destined to be encountering distances around 7f up to a mile later in the year. CURRICULUM (3yo) Trainer: William Haggas Breeding: - Superstar Leo (College Chapel) The horse only ran once as a two year old when finishing fourth in a maiden at the end of the 2015 season but showed enough in that to suggest it may have some talent. The horse plugged on from a less advantageous draw and stayed on very well. It will probably improve once stepped up over a mile and is definitely worth noting from a powerful stable. ELTEZAM (3yo) Trainer: Richard Hannon Breeding: Kodiac - Tymora (Giant’s Causeway) A winner of only one of his four starts for Richard Hannon last season but he did not stop improving throughout the whole of the year and rounded it off with a fine fourth to in the at Newmarket. That came on the back of an excellent effort at Royal Ascot were he was placed in the behind smart Classic contenders Buratino and Air Force Blue. Entered in both the English and Irish 2000 Guineas and runs in the Al Shaqab colours so should have Dettori onboard for the season. More black type looks certain to come and should fulfil last years promise.

4 EMOTIONLESS (3yo) Trainer: Charlie Appleby Breeding: Shamardal - Unbridled Elaine (Unbridled’s Song) Won by over three lengths on his maiden run which looks very strong now as many of the horses he had behind that day have gone on to win. He also went on to win his second outing but looked to of been entered into Group company a little too soon. He’ll come on for that experience and looks one to have a strong season ahead. ENDLESS DRAMA (4yo) Trainer: Ger Lyons Breeding: Lope De Vega - Desert Drama (Green Desert) Had a very good three year old season in Ireland with his maiden run standing out as his best run to date: he won by over five lengths that day over six furlongs. He since went on to finish just behind in the Irish 2000 Guineas and should find a few handicap races this season to get back to winning ways. EXECUTOR (3yo) Trainer: Roger Charlton Breeding: Cacique - Star Cluster () You probably won't see this three year old in Group company just yet but he has shown some promise over a mile on his penultimate run. Connections look to be trying him on the All-Weather for part of this year and if he impresses there he is one to follow on the artificial surface if nothing else. EXPRESS HIMSELF (5yo) Trainer: Ed McMahon Breeding: Dylan Thomas - Lightwood Lady (Anabaa) Was strongly fancied for this seasons Lincoln at and was traveling all over them before hitting the wall a furlong out. Sometimes tricky in the stalls he has been known to give away plenty of ground at the start, he did just that at his beloved Haydock (3 wins from 4 at that venue) yet still managed to win impressively. Proven on most types of ground he is another who looks a nightmare for the handicapper to properly assess, probably best at Haydock and advised to be followed at that venue and over trips around one mile. FAISEUR DE MIRACLE (4yo) Trainer: Micky Hammond Breeding: Makfi - Flawly (Old Vic) Cost €120,000 as a juvenile when sold to Mark Johnston but was last on debut. A move to Micky Hammond seemingly helped after getting off the mark at Wolverhampton. This four-year-old could be a useful handicapper and is related to some smart Group winners.

5 EMOTIONLESS (3yo) Trainer: Charlie Appleby Breeding: Shamardal - Unbridled Elaine (Unbridled’s Song) Won by over three lengths on his maiden run which looks very strong now as many of the horses he had behind that day have gone on to win. He since went on to finish just behind Gleneagles in the Irish 2000 Guineas and should find a few handicap races this season to get back to winning ways. EXECUTOR (3yo) Trainer: Roger Charlton Breeding: Cacique - Star Cluster (Observatory) You probably won't see this three year old in Group company just yet but he has shown some promise over a mile on his penultimate run. Connections look to be trying him on the All-Weather for part of this year and if he impresses there he is one to follow on the artificial surface if nothing else. EXPRESS HIMSELF (5yo) Trainer: Ed McMahon Breeding: Dylan Thomas - Lightwood Lady (Anabaa) Was strongly fancied for this seasons Lincoln at Doncaster and was traveling all over them before hitting the wall a furlong out.

6 HAALICK (3yo) Trainer: Roger Varian Breeding: Roderic O'Connor - Lucky Pipit (Key Of Luck) This son of Irish 1000 Guineas winning sire Roderic O'Connor looks a thriving prospect now making his three year old transition. With three runs as a juvenile he competed at Listed and Group level as a two year old without success. Being a late April foal there is surely more to come. He already commands a rating of 101 and more progression is expected now stepping up to one mile but is still going to be interesting around seven furlongs. (3yo) Trainer: Dermot Weld Breeding: - Hazariya (Xaar) This lightly raced three year old represents powerhouse connections in the form of The Aga Khan and trainer Dermot Weld. A decent victory on very soft going at Cork last time out is form that reads well. I don’t think soft going is a must for this youngster out of Sea The Stars who holds an entry in both The English and ’s. I doubt he’ll be good enough to match his fathers success but ticks a lot of boxes to do well this season. HATHAL (4yo) Trainer: William Haggas Breeding: Speightstown - Sleepytime () Ended 2015 with a nice win in a listed event at Newbury. Prior to that the horse finished second of nineteen behind a subsequent Group 3 winner () who heads for The Lockinge. With just the six runs under its it has scope to develop and with its ability to act on any going could be a player around the one mile trip. HERALD THE DAWN (3yo) Trainer: Jim Bolger Breeding: New Approach - Hymn Of The Dawn (Phone Trick) Won two and placed twice from five runs last year, including a three length second to Air Force Blue who is now a multiple Group 1 winner. A slightly disappointing run when last seen shouldn't deter you from following again this season with further progression likely.

7 HIPPOCAMPUS (2yo) Trainer: Richard Hannon Breeding: Born To Sea - Tolzey (Rahy) Owned by Michael Geoghegan who had success with Madrinho last season when winning a valuable maiden at Ascot and has run up to a level rating of 97, he teams up once more with a nicely bred colt by Born To Sea who landed the Listed Stakes as a juvenile and followed that up when finishing runner up to in the Irish Derby. The dam was also fairly useful as a juvenile as runner up twice in Listed company. A late April foal who should be more effective as the season progresses. HOW HIGH THE MOON (3yo) Trainer: Aiden O'Brien Breeding: Fastnet Rock - Quarter Moon (Sadler’s Wells) How High The Moon followed up his debut win with a close second in listed company next time out and although struggled in a Group 3 subsequently he has only raced three times. Holding entries in both the 1000 Guineas and Irish 1000 Guineas there should be more to come from this three year old. JORDON SPORT (3yo) Trainer: Richard Fahey Breeding: - Wonder Why (Tiger Hill) This three year old is quite a quirky sort but is one that could have plenty of ability. He has already run this season finishing fourth in a maiden at Wolverhampton. On pedigree a step up in trip would look to be suitable for this son of Dubawi. KESSELRING (3yo) Trainer: Richard Hannon Breeding: New Approach – Anna Oleanda (Old Vic) This un-raced three year old colt is highly thought of and has been reported as working well on the gallops at home. There is high expectations for this son of New Approach as he is also half brother to the smart Piping Rock and he is likely to start his career around a mile. KHALEESY (3yo) Trainer: John Gosden Breeding: Galileo - Fleeting Spirit (Invincible Spirit) Made little impact in two runs on turf but put in a much better, somewhat eye-catching performance on all-weather debut when winning by almost three lengths at Chelmsford in December 2015. Expected to improve further for a trainer who had a strike rate in excess of 53% for making the frame with his three year olds last year.

8 LAPILLI (3yo) Trainer: William Haggas Breeding: Bahamian Bounty - Blue Lyric (Refuse To Bend) Made its debut in a recent run on the all-weather at Wolverhampton, clearly wasn’t the best three year old maiden but won it comfortably enough and looked very green. A horse that seems to have the scope to grow vastly and improve immensely. (4yo) Trainer: Henry Candy Breeding: Tagula - Come April () Unbeaten as a 2 year old quite a few fancied he would struggle in the big sprint leagues last season, he proved the doubters wrong however and even proved he could mix it at up to 1m. A big strapping type he landed very competitive Group 2 event over 7f at Doncaster and looks sure to make his mark as a 4 year old. Soft ground would be a major negative for him but with races from 6f to a mile looking likely to suit, he is worth following especially if the ground is good or faster. LINE OF REASON (6yo) Trainer: Paul Midgley Breeding: Kheleyf - Miss Party Line (Phone Trick) A horse that has dined at the top table when it comes to sprint racing. Never quite managed a group race success but went close a few times in 2015. The horses handicap mark is dropping and top level handicaps and listed contests could be the target this year after a few spins over the winter to keep fit. If dropping down a level could bag a few wins. MAGICAL FOREST (2yo) Trainer: Marco Botti Breeding: Casamento - Hurry Home Hydee (Came Home) This progeny of a Racing Post Trophy winner is out of an un-raced mare through Grade 1 winning dams-sire Came Home who landed races such as the Hopeful Stakes, Santa Anita Derby and Pacific Classic throughout his career. I would expect Magical Forest to make a late seasonal appearance being a back end April juvenile, who is likely to be brought along slowly by Marco Botti.

9 MAHFOOZ (3yo) Trainer: Charlie Hills Breeding: Teofilo - Itqaan (Danzig) Made his debut at Doncaster in a soft ground maiden where he finished a disappointing 5th, connections reported later that he wouldn't have been at home on the soft ground. Despite disappointing he looked to have plenty of room for physical scope and being bred so beautifully he really ought to do better with time. Almost certain he will win a Maiden but on good ground and over trips of 10f and upwards he looks one very much to keep on side. MALJAA (4yo) Trainer: Roger Varian Breeding: Paco Boy - Kerrys Dream (Tobougg) A lovely gelding who hasn’t finished unplaced in all nine career starts. A four year old that represents a powerhouse stable and owner combination and despite going up in the weights looks good enough to compete in listed and minor group level in 2016. MATTMU (4yo) Trainer: Tim Easterby Breeding: Indesatchel - Katie Boo (Namid) He is a sprinter that is versatile on the ground and was the winner of a Group 3 at the Curragh last August. A fairly consistent type for trainer Tim Easterby, who races towards the pace. One to keep on side in big field sprints. MIDTERM (3yo) Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute Breeding: Galileo - Midday () The only one of seven Sir Michael Stoute's debutants to win on racecourse debut and already vying for favouritism for this years Derby. He only had to be shaken up to win his maiden going away, despite looking green in running, and could be a big player this season. MOOTAHARER (3yo) Trainer: Charlie Hills Breeding: Dubawi - Tahrir (Linamix) A half-brother to top sprinter Muharaar and has showed equal qualities from his two starts so far. Off the mark at Newmarket in very stylish with an emphatic turn of foot. Connections rate him highly and he could develop into a top middle distance horse this year.

10 MUTAWAALY (3yo) Trainer: Roger Varian Breeding: Cross - Sana Abel (Alhaarth) Didn’t make his debut at the age of two but being an April yearling it’d be more effective to bring him along slowly. He won on debut in good fashion at Wolverhampton when destroying his opposition by just under four lengths. It was not plain sailing and looked extremely green turning for home but came home nicely in front. With the sire being Cape Cross, you would think Mutawaaley will get a lot further than the 8.5f he won over on debut. There is much staying in this colt's genes and he should be looking to be covering races over 12f as the season progresses, with big entries such as The and Derby. Cape Cross has produced big race winners such as Sea The Stars, so expect good things this season from this three year old. PREQUEL (3yo) Trainer: John Gosden Breeding: Dark Angel - Miss Indigo () A 360,000 Guineas yearling purchase and one of a number in the stables arsenal of un-raced three year olds. Reported as one of the nicest looking horses in the yard and has been moving well on the gallops so could well be a group horse in the making for the juggernaut stable. PROFITIBLE (4yo) Trainer: Clive Cox Breeding: Invincible Spirit - Dani Ridge (Indian Ridge) A horse that mixed it in group level sprints last season and although expected to be way out of its depth did much better than most thought. Another years worth of experience under its belt will stand this colt in good stead for the campaign ahead and it wouldn’t be too big a shock to see him progress. PROJECTION (3yo) Trainer: Roger Charlton Breeding: Acclamation - Spotlight (Dr Fong) Ran a respectable fourth at Doncaster in September 2015 then improved to beat a previous winner in a Class 2 Conditionals race three weeks later. He has notched up two wins from five over six furlongs and should be open to further improvement this season.

11 MUTAWAALY (3yo) Trainer: Roger Varian Breeding: Cape Cross - Sana Abel (Alhaarth) Didn’t make his debut at the age of two but being an April yearling it’d be more effective to bring him along slowly. There is much staying power in this colt's genes and he should be looking to be covering races over 12f as the season progresses, with big entries such as The Dante and Derby. Cape Cross has produced big race winners such as Sea The Stars, Golden Horn so expect good things this season from this three year old. PREQUEL (3yo) Trainer: John Gosden Breeding: Dark Angel - Miss Indigo (Indian Ridge) A 360,000 Guineas yearling purchase and one of a number in the stables arsenal of un-raced three year olds.

12 (3yo) Trainer: Karl Burke Breeding: Showcasing - My Delirium (Haafhd) Three wins from four starts shows the talent of this filly. Defeated in a Group 2 behind the likes of Besharah and Lumiere is far from bad form and if progressing over the winter and sticking to sprint distances looks set to be one of the best three year old sprint fillies in training. ROYAL ARTILLERY (3yo) Trainer: John Gosden Breeding: - Masseuse (Dynaformer) With just the one winning run under his belt as a juvenile, this son of War Front has some interesting declarations for the forth coming season. With entries in the 2000 Guineas, and The Derby the yard obviously hold him in high regard. His juvenile win came on turf at Doncaster finishing off his race in good style by two and a half lengths. His seven furlong win should see him now stepping up in trip to the mile but being out of Group 2 Smartly Stakes winning dam Masseuse his stamina could be stretched beyond the mile if this is the route they decide to go. SACRIFICIAL (4yo) Trainer: Ger Lyons Breeding: Showcasing - Armanda (Acatenango) This ultra consistent horse put in numerous bold bids not just in his native Ireland but also at Ascot. The horse has finished out of the top three just twice in its twelve race career. The four year old seems to act on any surface and isn’t perturbed by big runner fields. It’s most impressive run was a third placed finish in The at Royal Ascot where the horse finished by far the best of those drawn on the far side. At just four years old it’s worth noting that further improvement could well be on the cards for this year. SCRUTINISE (4yo) Trainer: Ed Dunlop Breeding: - Tetravella (Groom Dancer) This son of Intense Focus seemed to relish the step up in trip last season with consecutive wins over 12-furlongs. Cut in the ground and a trip is what this horse requires. A four year old that will probably be best caught at the back end of the year.

13 SIR GEORGE SOMERS (3yo) Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute Breeding: Cape Blanco - Sense Of Class (Fusaichi Pegasus) This beautifully bred type reminds me very much of his sire (Cape Blanco) and managed to fetch 340,000 Guineas as a yearling. Un- raced as of yet his pedigree couldn't be anymore appealing and a stir is expected to be caused when he makes his race-course debut. His trainer excels with similar types and will likely find him a nice easy starter though he is probably worth following and bearing in mind as time will almost certainly prove a friend of his. SO MI DAR (3yo) Trainer: John Gosden Breeding: Dubawi - (Singspiel) This daughter of Dubawi is nicely bred and is exceptionally well related. She made a winning start at Windsor when beating an experienced rival in Golden Stunner and given time she could possibly stay further. This three year old is one to this season and could develop into a top class filly for John Gosden, who has had success with similarly bred individuals, with a possible tilt at this years Oaks the aim. SPECIAL SEASON (3yo) Trainer: William Haggas Breeding: Lope De Vega - Keep Dancing (Distant Music) A versatile looking three year old who has won on turf and the all- weather, over both seven and eight furlongs. Respectable fifth on seasonal re-appearance at the AW Championships in March 2016 and promises to improve as the season progresses. STORMY ANTARCTIC (3yo) Trainer: Ed Walker Breeding: Stormy Atlantic - Bea Remembered (Doyen) This three year old caught the eye on debut at Windsor when finishing a length third. He progressed well from then on and finished the season a narrow second to Johannes Vermeer in the Group 1 Criterium International at Saint-Cloud. He has the scope to go further in time and if he has developed well over winter could be a useful type.

14 STORMY CLOUDS (2yo) Trainer: Richard Hannon Breeding: Sir Prancealot - Singingintherain (Kyllachy) Despite the winner of the first fillies divisional being impressive she was definitely one to take out of the race in my opinion. We have seen Richard Hannon in the past campaign improving fillies which saw the likes of coming out of this same maiden to go on to record two Group wins. With plenty of speed around the pedigree I would expect her to leave her debut run long behind her when she re-appears again. SUEDOIS (5yo) Trainer: David O'Meara Breeding: Le Havre - Cup Cake (Singspiel) Made his UK debut when running a mighty race, splitting Mobsta and Maarek. Quite an experienced type in his native France he has already proven he handles good ground and seems to have no with it being slower. The British handicapper will likely get to grips with him but like so many from his yard he will probably strike a few times before that happens. Handicaps will be the order of the day and on good or worse ground he is worth following in the sprints and at up to 7f. SWISS AFFAIR (4yo) Trainer: John Gosden Breeding: Pivotal - Swiss Lake (Indian Ridge) This looks a very interesting filly for the 2016 season; she hasn't been out of the top two on her three runs to date and showed an amazing turn of foot when virtually coming from last to win by two lengths at Windsor last year. TAKE COVER (9yo) Trainer: David Griffiths Breeding: Singspiel - Enchanted (Magic Ring) Despite his advancing years, Take Cover showed he is no back number by landing a listed race at Dundalk last November. He is a useful operator on both artificial and grass surfaces and has finished within the places on four of his last five starts at the minimum trip. He has won on a variety of ground from heavy to firm and is as versatile as they come. He will feature in countless races this season and ought to continue to pay his way. Having won at tracks such as Goodwood, York and Haydock in the past, he is likely to be targeted back there once again by connections and this proverbial speedball can deliver yet more success.

15 TWIN SAILS (3yo) Trainer: Dean Ivory Breeding: - Atwirl (Pivotal) Started its career without too much highly thought of him but continued to progress throughout the season. Wasn’t good enough to mix it in group company but two placed efforts in big runner fields at Doncaster and Newmarket were impressive enough and looks to be a horse that’ll improve with age.

UDODODONTU (4yo) Trainer: Saeed Bin Suroor Breeding: Lope De Vega - Fifer () Already a winner of three races over seven and eight furlongs respectively, Udododontu has only failed to make the frame in one of eight career runs and put in a couple of strong performances at Meydan earlier this year. With the promise of more to come, he looks one to keep on the right side of this season.

VAZIRABAD (4yo) Trainer: Alan De Royer-Dupre Breeding: Manduro - Visorama (Linamix) Perhaps an obvious choice but the way this four year old battled back to win a Group 2 at Meydan was very impressive. A horse that seems to act on any ground and is bound to be contesting the top class staying races all across Europe this summer. This French gelding has a touch of class and at the age of four has room for improvement, definitely worth following in marathon trips.

WESTERN HYMN (5yo) Trainer: John Gosden Breeding: - Blue Rhapsody (Cape Cross) This lightly raced four year old ran up a sequence of wins back in 2014 at Newbury, Sandown and Maisons-Lafitte. Having rounded off his season with a fourth placed effort behind Mission in the he was put away for the year. On his seasonal debut at Sandown last season he proved too strong for the talented to win the Stakes. He followed up that win with another over the same course and distance a few weeks later when taking the Group Three . He was upped to Group One level on his final couple of starts and ran with credit against the likes of Golden Horn and Free Eagle. With further improvement likely this year, he remains one to keep on the right side of at distances of up to a mile and a half.
